When you root eyebrows approximately how many hairs do you root? I’m attempting to root again but am not sure how many hairs to place. Can someone give me an estimate for newborn-6 month doll. thanks
It’s difficult to make rooted eyebrows on newborns look real. Most of us paint them or use Prisma pencils. I usually prefer Prisma pencils.
See Kim @ utube-Customdollbaby- She has a good tutorial on rooted eyebrows.
I rooted for hours but when I went to cut to size it just didn’t look right. I ended up ordering false eyebrows made from human hair that can be cut to size and glued on, I’ll use more permanent glue since it’s going on vinyl and not skin. Someone could make a lot of money if they’d begin making eyebrow lace wigs for reborns.
please share how these look when you get them on your baby.
Yes please share I am so curious!
I will. They were expensive so that’s why I hesitated a few weeks and made a couple attempts to root, now I caved and spent the $30 to order a pair of false human hair eyebrows. I’ll post pics when they arrive and I get them on her.
They were $28.45 with tax and shipping minus a 10% off discount. They are often used by people with cancer or alopecia and can be cut down to fit most ages. I wonder why false eyelashes are abundant and cheap and yet false eyebrows are super expensive and very hard to find? Image Beauty and Proxxy were the 2 I found that were middle of the road in cost but the 3rd company, Headcovers, charges $49 plus tax and I don’t know if shipping is additional. I’m going to pre cut thick cloth first to make sure of the size and shape I want then I’ll start to gradually cut away a little at a time until I feel happy with it.
Painting was out for my doll because hours of rooting left holes that now look horrible through the paint, so false brows it is. I will definitely post pics when they come in and I apply them. I’ll include the link if anyone wants to try them
So the eyebrows came in and worked great. I cut a small pair out for Olive and will still have enough for 2 more pairs. I trimmed the length of the hairs and glued it on. Once it dries and sets for good I will go back and cut a few hairs out here and there just to thin it but I am happy with the finished outcome. Also, I never warmed up to the wig so I removed it and she will remain a sweet little bald baby instead. I’m so much happier with her now. I hated spending almost $30 to buy false eyebrows but I felt I had not other viable choice since the rooting left holes and chipped away paint. Since they were so big it will give me 3 pairs out of this one set, so $10 a pair isn’t bad. They are called Nubrow and sold by Image Beauty online if anyone is interested. Here’s Olive all finished.
