The cutie I just bought has a magnetic, closed mouth that can use a magnetic pacifier.
I’ll only have one plain white one, when the baby comes.
This may sound dumb, but I’m going to ask anyway: I’m wondering if the doll has a magnet in it’s mouth and then a magnet is used with the pacifier, isn’t there a chance that the wrong side of the magnet could be used and the mouth magnet and the paci magnet would repel each other?

That is why I hate it when I see people selling premade pacifiers. 
there is no way to know it will go on your doll.
Honeybug pacifiers are made for reborns. They are more spendy but the back opens and you can flip the magnet if needed.

Yes you have a 50/50 chance of putting it the wrong way. Just wait till your baby comes to glue the magnet to the paci if you are going to make one. Then you will be sure to put it the right way.
This is awesome! I want my baby to have lots of the fun, cute pacis! And this would give me a chance to try out the magnet before it was put back together.
Does the magnet need to be glued down, or does it stay when you put the cap back on?

That is just the type of magnet used.
I think Jillian sends hers with a magnet inside.
The back just pops back on. I have never glued it and none have came off by themselves. There are also themed stickers (sprinkles) that you can customize a pacifier with to match a set of clothes, etc.
There is a little compartment that the magnet fits in so it doesn’t fall out or need glue. The cap fits quite snugly so it is secure and won’t fall off.
