How do you decide outfits

I bought a few outfits from the UK…they are adorable and unique (I can’t ever find them here in Canada except expensive boutiques), but I’m hesitant to send them home with my babies. Am I the only one that does this? I don’t want to hoard cloth8ng, lol

If I like something a lot, I don’t send it home. I don’t know why since I don’t collect any dolls  I have a nice boys vintage style romper that I can’t wait to use on the right baby, I just haven’t found the right one yet. It’s way too big for a newborn

I sent this gorgeous blue knitted dress with the last Saskia I did (custom) and then the buyer turned around and sold the doll the following week…ugggh. Like she didn’t even appreciate it! I should have kept the dress for my own collectible baby girl

Im closer to the UK than you are and I buy these cute little bubble suits from a lady there. They have cute clothes here but I buy things from different countries that I can’t find here. I really like some of the Spanish style and I love the Peter Rabbit bubble suits the lady in the UK makes. Below is a pic of my custom Robin wearing one

Ok…I am guilty of not reading the last line of your post. I do keep some of my outfits but these I do send home with my babies.

This little flowery dress is from the UK. I did put that one on my latest baby, but the knitted Peter Rabbit suit (which I think is adorable) I might hang on to that one for a bit, lol

I hoard clothes just like I do kits. Picking out the clothes for each baby is more fun than reborning.

I have (literally) about 250 pounds of baby clothes in different sizes. When I’m ready to sell a doll, I pick out about a dozen outfits to try on and choose the ones that make the baby look the best to send home. I have a few (very few) designer dresses that I’m keeping for my keeper babies. I don’t do photo shoots with clothes I’m not sending home.

I agree with @jeanhai. I think if doll is photographed in particular clothes and that doll listed for sale, the buyer expectation that doll will come with those outfits.

Yes, I agree. Everything I photograph them in gets sent home.

How many outfits do you send with each baby?

I sent whatever I post on reborns dot com with the exception of Blaze (now Emma) when her mommy wanted to see more pictures of her as a girl and I took additional photos in more girly outfits and ask her if she wants those outfits instead pictured in the posting. So generally I include: white onesie, set of clothes that would include pants with opened feet because I watched enough box opening videos how they start to reveal everything starting with removing socks and showing the feet, sleep-and-play kind of outfit, a hat for a boy and a hat & a hairband for a girl. Plus if I want, I add something. In Paisley case I added blue Winnie The Pooh winter romper. I add some extras as soft toy, baby bottle, care instructions with baby picture, thank you card. This is just a few shots of the packing.

I only made 2 babies for sale, thus deciding on their outfits was easy for me. But I already have a bunch of clothes for my future babies :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:. But I buy them on sale or clearance. After all, outfit shopping for reporns iis mom’s the most favorite activity. Like @Peachtree once said somewhere, she never keeps clothes that was sent with reborns that she bough. And I think it’s a true statement that would be applicable to the most buyers. I saw that Emma’s mom redress her immediately and sent me pictures of her in a new sleeper.

From my experience as a buyer: I’ve got my baby-boy from @jlesser with the similar set of clothes that I described above, and a baby-girl from @Katinafleming which has more outfits. But all of them were pictured in the listing. So as a buyer if I would not get those outfits I would be disappointed.

I have a hard time making anything for others anymore. I used to make a lot of stuff to give to grands, etc., just people in general. But, they do not have a clue as to the time and work you put into it. It is “just another outfit” to them, or so it seems. I will say that my daughter-in-law did keep things like that, that I had made for her girls. Anyway, I have been winding all my yarn stash into yarn cakes with my new ball winder. I can’t believe how much I have wound and still am not done. It is the big project I am working on now. I have been working on it since the first part of January. I am hoping to get it completed before I lose my energy again. So, I have a lot that I can make things for my dolls. Since I keep my dolls, it will be fine for them.

These outfits are precious.

I send 3 NWT outfits with each toddler. I love clothing too, and sometimes make ready made toddlers, to go with ptfits I buy <3 Its about the whole presentation to me

I recently bought a doll from an artist who said in the add the clothes did not come with the doll. But when I got the doll all the clothes in the pic came with her. She had amazing vintage dresses, I was blown away I had tears when I opened them… I was so surprised!
