How do you apply varnish?

Hi there everyone! Sorry if this is a silly question but I am getting ready to varnish my first doll head and I am wondering how to apply it. I already sealed the head with Rebornfx sealer. I will be using Golden matte polymer varnish with UVLS and some Americana soft touch. Both I have had in my stash for a while. I am aware of Angie’s recipe for the cornstarch. But what I mean is to I apply the varnish with a cosmetic wedge? Do I pounce it? Do I smooth it on? Do I paint it in thin layers with a paintbrush?

I pounce it on with a wedge.

Thanks Angie! I was wondering too with your cornstarch recipe if I could use Rebornfx matting powder instead of the corn starch?

I apply varnish on the wedge with a wooden popsicle stick and then ponce it on the vinyl part.

You can. It may not get as matte I can’t remember but you can try it. I did it a long time ago.

I use a paintbrush to get it on and then pounce it out with a wedge.
