If you ladies don’t mind me asking, do you reborn just for a hobby or for an income? I’ve been reading some of the post and answers. I’m just doing it as a hobby. I see some ladies sell them n some people trade. Looking at reborns that have been posted gives me hope n enthusiasm to complete my reborn. I even ordered another kit. Right now, I’m just gonna do the two n see how they turn out n go from there. I don’t have as much time to work on them like I want to do to working full time.
Personally I reborn for a hobby. I don’t collect dolls, so if they look nice, I sell them. I have given some as gifts to friend’s children also. I like to keep learning and get better at it because I think it is a beautiful art.
I do it for fun and profit. I love reborning and I need the money it brings in.
I do it for me, because I love it. I don’t really make profit because I spend every dime on more dolly stuff!!! So, love not profit. ️
I guess you could call it a hobby that occasionally pays for it self lol though on my side not often, I do list them for sale have gave a lot more away than I have sold. I enjoy it and it keeps me sane lol so I keep doing it trying to get better:heart_eyes:
I don’t NEED to spend another dime on supplies for at least 3 years but they keep coming out with new kits. The hurrier I go, the behinder I get! lol
Mine is a hobby but I would like for it to become income so I could quit and just make dolls.
I’ve spent about 425.00 already. Waiting for my second kit to come in the mail. I haven’t even finished my first one. I’ve brought outfits n looking to buy a used bouncer. That’s how excited I was to do my first reborn. Then I got discouraged. But after reading post n seeing post on here, it gave me hope. So I’m gonna try to finish these two kits first before I buy any more. At least that’s what my mind is saying. But, I know me.
Spending 425 will turn into inventory and supplies equaling 44,250 soon:-)
I wish
That’s what we all said, “I’m not buying anymore until I finish the ones I got”…HaHaHa
I know as long as I keep going to the websites, I’m gonna see one I want n order it. It’s hard to fight the urge. Especially when you see one you really like.
I do it for a hobby, but have got lucky and made 2 sales in 2 nights so now I have a few more dolly dollars
I do it as a hobby. It helps with my depression too. I’ve sold quite a lot of babies, usually just to get funds for more kits, but Lately I’ve had trouble parting with any of them and I now have about 40 or so in my baby room. Ladies, I do believe I may have a problem lol
For me it’s a hobby, but it subsidizes itself and all my othe hobbies too. Right now I’m trying to make it pay for my new spring garden. If it ever became a business for me I would probably quit. I like having control of the fun!
I’ve made dolls for my 3 daughters and myself. If I was better at it, I think I may sell. I am kind of put off of selling online, though after reading so many stories of bad stuff happening.
It’s a wonderful hobby that I love AND that brings in a great income and great joy! I’ve been doing it to 10 years. Not only is it all those things but I have made some life long dear friends and been blessed in so many ways.
It’s definitely a hobby that occasionally pays. Like Sam @SilentSleepers says, it’s a therapy to her and, to some degree, we all get some sort of therapy from making these adorable babies.
I have had periods where it was almost like an income of sorts, but then come the dry months, like January when I sell nothing, so like Nichole, I wouldn’t ever rely on it. Some of the people doinc customs seem to be booked up most of the time.
I think people that take customs stay booked too. I just can’t do them. I’ve tried. It takes away my creative joy. I will do them every now and then but it’s really just a kit choice, painted in my normal style. Not a full custom.
