Our “Kit of the Day” is Avery, at only $19.99!
Avery was sculpted by Denise Pratt, and was Bountiful Baby’s first kit release. Our real daughter Averie was the reference model for the sculpt, which is why the kit was named “Avery” (note the spelling difference, though).
Avery’s prototype sold on eBay for $5600, which at the time (early 2006) was the highest selling reborn baby doll in eBay’s history. It was also the #1 watched auction in all of the “Dolls & Bears” supercategory on eBay most of the time the auction was on. It generated a huge amount of interest in our Avery’s, and our “pre-notification” list grew to an incredible number of interested folks, all of whom wanted to be notified when our shipment of Avery’s came in.
Our original order from the factory for Avery was 500. Our shipment came in on Monday, June 5, 2006, and we made 340 of them available on our website later than afternoon. Those sold out within about an hour. Then Tuesday we made the other 160 available (our last ones from this shipment). They sold out in 53 minutes.
Although not a “new release”, Avery has been a perennial good seller ever since her release. And she is on sale right now!
