Here we go again.... eBay rant!

As most of you know my Saskia is on EBay right now. I listed it with the buy it now option and less than 24 hours, someone selected the buy now option. I was thrilled to see that it had sold. Right??? I sent numerous emails congratulating the buyer and explaining that payment is due immediately and that as soon as the payment is made that I would arrange delivery. I didn’t hear back not until this morning and mind you, the person hit the buy it now button on Wednesday. The buyer had a feedback score of 0 and just created the account on Sept 13, 2016.

I am really Leary now that this has happened to me a few times now. So I don’t have time for games. I cancelled the sale and relisted the baby on auction once again and blocked the buyer or so I thought.

This morning I get an email that says this.
“Can you ship it out and I pay you next Monday that’s when I get paid and it my teenagers birthday and she wanted this reborn”

I’m going to leave this right here: chime in if you want but I’m just about through with eBay. I don’t have time for all the games and people trying to get something for nothing… How the heck did she contact me???

Would she go to the store and select gifts for her teenager’s birthday and ask to come back and pay on Monday? :frowning:

@ashleyfox98 that’s exactly what I’m saying!!! I’m so frustrated with this that I can’t bring myself to respond to that email. Why would I ship out my reborn to anyone and trust that they are just going to pay me??? What is wrong with people???

I think a lot of these people’s stories are made up. Maybe just a troll or someone trying to get something for free, but the excuses aren’t worth responding to. I’d just cancel the transaction.

I cancelled it… I’m seriously over this… Too many people playing games and not enough serious buyers.

Tell her you require immediate payment, it’s reliisted if it’s still there on Monday she can pay for it then. It’s win-win.

BTW that is such a cute baby, love that hair.

Thanks! I’m thinking about not using eBay. This has happened to me too many times in a row now. I may just sell directly through my Facebook from now one. I don’t kno…

I hear ya, I havnt even tried. Reborns sends me a lot of people asking strange questions but (knock on wood) no scary stuff yet. Etsy is very laid back and easy, good experiences.

Wonder if we can create a group Etsy store, one place, quality reborns, skilled artists?

We need something like that. I haven’t seen any hits on reborns.com yet. I have sold all of my reborns on eBay so far.

@Gabriell, I just got another email saying that she is about to buy the baby. She says that she is putting money on her card. I just don’t have a good feeling about this… I smell fraud or maybe I’m being too cautious.

I don’t think you can be too cautious these days. Thankfully the last two transactions on eBay went smoothly for me. Both buyers paid instantly.

Reminds me of that line that Wimpy used to say: “I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.”

When listing a buy it now price on Ebay listings,be sure to go in your preferences and click the immediate pay with BIN option. If this option is selected, you will not even know somebody is playing around.Only a serious buyer can buy it because they have to pay right then.

There is an immediate pay option you can select when you set up your buy it now listing. This automatically stops the transaction from going through if the item is not paid for first. If the buyer doesn’t pay it doesn’t go through and your item will still be listed.

Ok I have to look for that. I’m going to do it now. I have to figure out how to set it up. Thanks!!! That’s why I love it here!!! :slightly_smiling_face:

Ok I’m going to see how to set it up. Can I do it for auction with the buy it now option as well?

You can go back and revise your listing and do it.Only works for Buy it Now unless is auction and BIN listing and the immediate pay only applies to the BIN price.Put in your listing that auctions must be paid within …then put how long you will give the buyer to pay.

Be sure and make a note on your listing that your BIN option remains open until the payment is made, and that someone else could buy the baby if payment is delayed for any reason. They actually could, and the thought of having someone else swoop in and buy something someone really wants is great motivation!
