So,
Sold a baby and sent it with tracking through PayPal with the PayPal address. I always copy the address straight from PayPal so no mistakes are made. It said yesterday the baby was forwarded due to wrong address or zip code. This is making me fee uneasy. I contacted the buyer yesterday about it and she said it was the right address. I have heard nothing yesterday or today from USPS or her. Should I be worried? If it comes back, what do I do? Do they receive a refund?
If it comes back to you, recheck the address as written on the box correct any mistakes and reship. No reason to lose a sale if the package comes back to you safely and in a timely manner.
If the buyer checks with the post office on her end she may be able to find out where it is and get it sent to her address before it is sent back to you. Most of all, continue to be open with the buyer about what is going on and see if you can get everything worked out in an amicable way.
Right now it’s at an alert and stopped tracking. I talked to them yesterday and they address matches PayPal. So I guess it is a waiting game.
Oh man. How stressful! Hope your baby turns up quickly!!
Me too!!
May I ask why would you copy? If you create your shipping label off Paypal, the address is already there pre-populated.
I get the address on the reborns.com order… then log into paypal and check the address is the same. Copy it and send it to the buyer in an email and ask them to verify it is correct. I do not ship until I hear back from them.
I copy and past mine from PayPal as well. I don’t create my shipping label on PayPal.
I never create the shipping label, I go to the post office for all the paper work. I copy the address from PayPal and put the packaging slip in. Maybe I am not familiar with what the shipping label is. That is after paying for shipping online correct?
I only use PayPal address because I thought it had to be that for PayPal protection.
Yes the shipping label is for paying shipping online. Yes you should use the PayPal address if you want protection.
Okay, so that’s what I did. I always print the packaging slip and then copy my adrress and their address and print and cut in out so there are NO questions about the address (atleast not on my side)
Yes, that is correct, but I always create shipping labels at home (for both USPS and UPS), this is why I didn’t understand you ‘copy’ comment.
BTW, is you use PayPal for shipping label the price is always lower than direct USPS.
I shipped babies by UPS as I don’t use flat rate boxes, and UPS with their discount code ‘EASY’ is always less expensive than USPS.
Even though I have a scale I am always nervous I am going to dm something wrong. Lol
I had this happen to a package being sent to me from overseas. Something went wonky with the automated postal system and the package was sent to another state. First I got the message about it forwarding because address was wrong. Then tracking showed that it was returned to sender. Then it finally got delivered to me. It was very frustrating, and now I avoid buying off Etsy from the UK. For some reason every package that comes through customs in NY gets misdirected.
Let’s see if it gets delivered today. The alert is off and tracking is back on!!!
Post office gives me anxiety!!!
She made it! Man close call, scared me.
I am always a little nervous that my scale will be off too so I add a few ounces to the weight when create the label So far all is good. I take it to the counter so I can get the scanned receipt when I drop it off and sometimes I ask them to check if their weight is the same as mine.
