Help me ladies!

A lady contacted me and asked if I can accept payment other than PayPal.
First I can’t think of anything else I would trust and I’m not trying to get scammed so I thought I would hear your opinions. Is there really another option that safe?

I would only accept a Postal money order. Any other money orders could be faked.

That would make me feel uneasy also. Did she say why? Maybe someone has some further ideas on possible safe options, I don’t personally feel too comfortable without PayPal. But there might be other options…

Maybe the person doesn’t understand paypal?

I dont really. I have never used a paypal account… but I have used my card on a site and paid through paypal…

But like I said I dont understand it… do you have that option?

I personally don’t accept anything but paypal. It protects you and the buyer.

I’m totally dumb when it comes to all the new fangled ways of doing things. I am used to dealing with cash and I have a hard time doing anything else (I’m old) but I do have a paypal account strictly for buying things and it is so easy and there is NO fee connected to just BUYING. If she has a computer she can set up an acct just for buying. I have a little account at the bank that I use ONLY for buying stuff. I keep very little money in it and when I want to buy stuff I go put some money in that account, buy my stuff and it is back to a few dollars left, that way if anyone ever gets into it there is very little for anyone to get, maybe $20. I asked at the bank if that was a weird way to work and they said NO there are lots of people that have internet buying accounts only. So I felt better. This probably sounds weird to a lot of you younger guys that are so used to doing everything on their smart phones, but it works for this old lady.

The only other payment type I accept is United States Postal Money Orders. I actually prefer that over PayPal. No sellers fees and it can be directly cashed at the bank or USPS. USPS can definitely tell if it is fake but they are VERY hard to counterfeit and never had any issues with them so far. But PayPal does protect both seller and buyer.

I accept bank draft which is similar to a money order…they are safe and no fees…living in Canada though, I accept bank drafts only from Canadian customers…and I also use PayPal…and sometimes cash…!!

I take PayPal and postal money orders. I did take checks one time for a customer who bought on layaway but I totally trusted my gut on that one. I met her at a doll show. I have the ability to take credit cards with Square but I don,'t advertise that because the fees are so high. I just use it at doll shows.

You can also open up an account with Square. You can send an invoice to the buyer via email and they can pay with a credit/debit card online. You get the funds the next day.

It’s a way for you to get paid with a credit card by swiping it on your phone. Or, you can send an invoice via email and the customer pays online with their card. Either way, you get your money the next day (except weekends or if the payment is made too late in the day).

It’s free to get an account and there are no monthly fees.
