Anyone do anything fun today? I know we can’t really go out but did you do anything fun at home?

I stayed home, and it was just a normal day most of the day. My gecko decided to lay her first ever clutch of eggs today, so that’s all that I celebrated today :joy:

Well eggs are exiting. Nothing special for me either. We normally have a big celebration at the marina with fireworks at night, but it was all cancelled. My two oldest kids worked today and my youngest went to her friends house for a BBQ and some fireworks. So basically the only thing I did today was drive people around.

They’re infertile eggs, as she’s never been bred with :joy: But it’s her first time and a lot could’ve gone wrong, but everything went perfectly.

Yeah everything here was canceled too. Some neighborhood people had fireworks so we did a bit of training with the puppy, but other than that we did nothing holiday related.

Pics of the eggs cause they’re too adorable :joy:

That is so neat. Did you actually get to see her lay them?

One of my dogs is terrified of storms and fireworks so she’s a basket case tonight with all the neighbourhood fireworks going off.

For the last few days she’s been digging constantly so I figured she was getting close. Then earlier this evening I noticed her head sticking out of one of the holes. When I checked back on her later she had left the hole and she looked skinnier. I weighed her and she had lost a few grams so I started digging for eggs

Yeah, I can imagine. One of mine freaks out really bad but the puppy is fine with them. But he’s training to be a service dog and he’s been trained to be calm through loud noises, storms, sirens etc.

So she buries herself to lay the eggs? I was picturing that she layed them then buried them.

Yeah they dig a hole, crawl in it, lay the eggs and then bury them! Edit to add: reptile eggs can’t be rotated generally after being laid and if she buried them after it would be more likely for them to roll so would be riskier
Also I didn’t mean for this to become me talking about my gecko forever :joy:
