I need to know how much mohair or hair I would need for the Amelia 10 month crawler kit. I want it long enough to do pigtails so I am thinking at least 5-6" long, or does it need to be longer? If I root it thick, how many ounces would I need? Any suggestions would be helpful.

When I would order from Olga … Karmandolls on Etsy i would order one color and get maybe 4/5bundles of hair. In it them into thirds for a newborn head and maybe use one bundle. For Amelia I would think since she is bigger you would need two orders of one color if you were going to leave them full length (5-6 inches)

I’ve always had good luck with her hair but some people have had a lot of lice/nits in thier order and she is in Russia and sometimes has to dye to order so it takes about six weeks to get it. For her affordable prices I’m willing to take the risk 
I’m a visual person and have no capacity for numbers so I’m not sure on the ounces.
For my older toddlers etc I order human hair from eBay and get 13 inch pony tails that are any where from 2-3 oz and can be cut in half for younger toddlers like Amelia etc and still have some left over.
I get mine from hair4sell on eBay and her hair is always clean neat shiny and easy to work with. Babe is wonderful and does fast shipping. I made a special order with her for red hair as it’s hard to find and she came through for me and was great to communicate with. I highly recommend her and it kills me to give out my source cause that’s more completion for her auctions.
I would much rather root a bigger toddler head with human hair than a newborn with mohair
This is 4.1 ounces and you could do a few dolls if you cut it half. Depending on how thick you root. I wouldn’t cut it to short because then it won’t lay flat and it gets bristly feeling. Four inches would prob be as short as I personally would go unless it was baby fine hair. If you’d want it shorter I would stick with mohair.

I think it would be better to use human hair for her size head. The 5-6in mohair, in my opinion will be short pigtails. I rooted a June head with karma s mohair. It took for ever. I don’t remember how much I used. But it was about 5inches.
Olga has 9" hair that would probably be just right.

@Katinafleming Do you use mohair or human hair for your toddlers? I can’t imagine rooting mohair on anything bigger than newborn

I only use human hair if they are long haired girls. I hate rooting human hair. For me, it’s 1000 times harder than mohair

What kind of needles do you use? For me it’s a vision thing… I can actually SEE human hair
