Grrrr Customer has paint rubbing off

My first baby I bought had pain rub off his toes. I’ve never played with him; just changed clothes probably 4-5 times

It happens…I don’t know why, if I wasn’t rough with him

How good is varnish if that’s all it takes, though?!

I would assume that they were those high top leather shoes and they are rough on the inside sometimes. It was just a guess but a child would not know not to cram them on even if too small and tight.I usually don’t put shoes on reborns if they fit tight and always with socks,I rarely use sandals.

I would explain that very rough handling can cause the paint to come off. Since you do not know about the situation in her home, you are willing to refund $50 for the problem. Explain what is looks like to you/what happened. Explain that going forward she should treat the doll with care to keep it in the best/like new condition possible.

Hopefully, this will satisfy the lady getting some money back and the fact that you explain that this is a work of art, not a toy, will help going forward.

This definitely looks like rough play.

I’m not sure but when I first saw the pic with the black pants I was cringing :joy::joy::see_no_evil:

The paint was not baked for long enough. It must have been the area you had facing down when you baked it so that area was touching the towel in your oven and kept it from being properly set. Bake, cool, flip and bake at the end stage.

Edited to add- I always do a fingernail scratch test before I assemble. I literally scratch my nail all over all parts to be sure that the paint can’t come off. If it scratches I touch up the area and bake with that side up

Looks like it just rubbed off from changing them too much. It happened to my first reborn. She was perfectly cured and I couldnt even scrape the paint off. But I changed her a lot and wasn’t careful with her. Her fingers and toes have blank vinyl showing.

I can say if you constantly change the doll the paint will rub off! I am speaking from experience. Good thing I am a Doll Artist and can fix them, lol. If someone loves changing their dolls then they should have a lot so that you are not changing the same doll all the time. My recommendation for doll changers is to have 12 so that you are changing your dolls once every three months. :joy: There you go I have given everyone permission to buy more dolls, lol.

The toe I can understand, but the “teeth” like scratches or whatever, don’t seem to make sense with clothing changes. It doesn’t look rubbed off there.

The first pictures looks almost like some kind of inflammation. I know it is not possible for a doll to be injured that way, but it does look that way to me. I wonder if, as some has said, that maybe high top, hard shoes have been pushed on and off w/o socks. Kids are not gentle.
