Grainy paint

Hi. I use odorless mineral spirits and Im wondering if that’s why my paint on my dolls doesn’t look completely smooth. It almost looks grainy, especially if you look with a magnifying glass.

Im wondering if its normal for it to look somewhat grainy. I use genesis heat set paint.

Or maybe there’s a better quality thinner.
Im confused. Thank you.

Some of the new formula Genesis can go grainy as well as older paint that the oils has dried out of some. Using a bit of heat set thinning medium (any brand) or thinning oil like MacPherson’s sells in your mix along with your odorless thinner can help a lot.
