Garbage I received from a Mercari reborn sale

So my sister is wanting to get into reborning and she has been sharing my stuff. I came across this reborn kit and accessories lot and thought it was a great starter kit. So we bought it. As you can see, the ad says limited edition kit. It does not say a damaged piece of garbage and stained up clothes. I requested a return so I seriously hope they approve the return. She messaged asking why I wanted to send it back. SERIOUSLY?? She said she had listed it as used. Which was obviously a lie. I had screenshot the whole thing before buying to show my sister so I knew it doesn’t say that!!! I’m so aggravated!

I just needed to vent

Also in her message she told me to “just use acetone to clean it” As if that was a great idea!

I order from Mercari all the time, too much and never have I received anything bad! This is completely and utterly unacceptable! Oh my! I would put up a fuss sorry you got a bum deal😡

I buy and sell on there and have never had an issue. I had to send in a request form and have to wait until Mercari people decide whether or not I can be issued a refund. If they don’t side with me, I sure won’t use them ever again.

OMG! So sorry! Someone just dump all unusable stuff there. How low! You should direct her to shop here. I hope you’ll get your refund!

Yeah it is annoying when people fail to recognize the difference between used and nasty. No one wants used, stained clothes for reborn or real babies and those kits are even unacceptable. She should had described them as stripped at the least and took better pictures. She looks like she scuffed and dropped those kits on the ground and they got stained.

She definitely should have at least mentioned that they were stripped kits if nothing else.

If that’s the only pics from her auction… there are no clear pics of the kit just a partially obstructed view of a head in a bag…and no closeups of the clothes either.

That was all the pics she had on the listing. I just trusted that it was a kit in normal condition unfortunately.

I believe this was posted in. Fb reborn group. I was tempted to buy it, but talked myself out of it. I’m sorry this happened to you. That’s why I’m so weary of purchasing stuff like this.

I am usually very leery of it too. And this is a prime example of why.

I’ve had runs ins with this seller before, same reason as you. Posted one thing and received another of very very horrible quality.
Mercari refunded me (and assuming paid her since I didn’t have to return it 🤷it was only a $15 sale) so I chucked the nasty clothes as even washing didn’t take out the stains

That’s good to hear that they refunded you. I really hope they side with me. I’ll send her junk back. I sure don’t need any of it.

I wouldn’t want to waste money on the shipping. If she wants her garbage back she should foot the bill. That looks so bad that my brain started smelling cigarette smoke and dirty litter box.

I do have a couple of lightly stained items of vintage clothing for reborns in my personal collection, but never would I SELL them to an unsuspecting customer. That’s just plain wrong!

I bought the starter kit from BB when I began. Back then you got a full kit not a test limb. And it was $99 plus shipping. Still have many of the paints left from it.

I don’t know how Mercari does that. If I have to ship her stuff back and who’s responsible for paying for it. I’ve never had to deal with this before. They may require me to ship back to get a refund. Which is definitely not fair if I get stuck paying for it!

She may have to do that.

Usually if they make you return something for a refund, mercari will send a prepaid shipping label, so it’ll be on their dime.
Depending on the price you paid/shipping back determines if they allow you to keep the item plus get a refund (they always give the seller the funds to if they don’t require a return)
