Can you remove and replace the eyes? If not, can you paint them?
cant get inside head, and they wobble back and forth, dont think i would do justice to try painting, but thank you for the ideas
I was excited thinking she was really old, when i got dirt off pretty sure im readding “Gerber co. 1970” lol plan on putting her on a bb body and keeping cuz i think she is cute
I may have some of those eyes that open and close, if yo take them out and measure then I can pull my old eyes out and take pictures, if interested, please let me know. The full mechanizem.
thank you, willkeep that in mind. Bottom of head is sealed and the plastic, vinal whatever she is made of has no give at all very hard and feels like it would easily break
am using dry majic eraser then olive oil on qtip and am finding more iris, dont know how clear theyll get but i see a difference
they definitely are better
I love this one!
Great find! What year is the second one? They are very cute.
Definitely better. You could use a little Pledge Floor Care Multi Purpose Finish on them. It will make them look like glass. Just be careful it doesn’t get into the open/close mechanism. Try to get the olive oil off first so the Pledge will stick.
Is this one a Tiny Tears?
Don’t know what the second one is or how old no writing and only have the head. Good idea with the pledge😉
That second one has the face similar to my old Pedigree doll. Only mine has hair (a wig) And it’s eyes wobble like your first one. The Pedigree is about 55 to 60 years old
THIS IS NOT MINE, JUST SIMILAR
Hi, Lucky Girl ! I have used eucalyptus oil many times on cloudy Pedigree eyes with success. You could twist a small amount of cotton wool around the end of a pointed toothpick, just enough to hold a tiny amount of the oil, and try on an inconspicuous part of her eye. Good Luck !
Flirty eye Gerber baby? The eyes go side to side?I have a couple of those somewhere in my stored dolls.Seems like mine have blue check outfit/body combo.
Yes, the body was red check but torn off neck to a thread and very nasty condition filled with paper bits and fluff that looked more like hair😉
Be careful, alot of the old dolls may have gotten moisture in them and may have mold. That is why it is a good idea to take them apart. I started out collecting dolls from the 50’s and found this to be a problem. I love the old ones.
I also made the error of using alcohol to clean eyes. Same result of foggy eyes. I used the product Mod Podge Gloss on them and it worked. It’s not expense and can be found almost everywhere. That was 20 years ago and eyes still clear.
