The first time I ever sold any was at a craft sale. I sold them for $100 Canadian because I just liked making them and wanted to make more so didn’t care if I was losing money. I sold 6 of them. It was long enough ago that I was using a film camera so I have no pictures for you.

I didint list any until after I painted 10 and did a swap (6th) and got feedback.
Then I listed my 10th, 9th, and 7th… 8th was a character baby challenge we did on this forum (sold later)
My 10th sold first for $200 + shipping - 6 months after I started

I bought Sienna from bb as a complete doll. It was gross and just slapped with a little pink here and there that literally came off with a wet q-tip. I knew I could do better; certainly not worse that it already was. I painted it and sold it to a friend of a friend when I brought him to her kids consignment sale for 145.00. I have pictures somewhere on my fb.

I did take some I think, but if I did I have no idea where they would even be. We moved and are under renovations and I can’t find or get to a lot of things. Maybe some day I’ll find them and have a laugh.

Oooooh a swap sounds interesting! What a great idea and way to get feedback and learn… also I would not have recognized Liam and totally did not know he was a Marissa May sculpt! He makes a beautiful she

Just thinking how fun it would be to look back on and reminisce 
The first baby I ever made was the first one I sold. I was able to recoup my cost and buy another few kits. Summer Rain went home as a boy. He is in Maine by the ocean- his name is Shelby

Pictures were always crappy because you never knew if I was going to look good until you got them developed. Now a days you can take it and think that sucks and retake it.

I have the very first baby I ever made out of a Berenguer doll. It was my daughter’s. I was back when we either painting the inside of the kit to change the skin tone or put Rit dye inside. This one has the dye inside so over the years it has seeped through and turned the baby a lovely dead purple baby colour. He’s not nearly as cute as he used to be, if you could ever call him cute.

Sold this cuddle baby locally to someone I knew. I still haven’t started selling. I wish I could jump in and do it.

So glad they don’t sell those anymore!!! I looked at them in the discontinued area and was surprised they ever offered them.

And that was what barely a year ago? And look at you now!!! You were an amazing artist with your first and have only gone tuned your style as you’ve grown
@PhotographyForLife, I know the one you are talking about but this was from an “artist”. Was my first baby and I didn’t really know what to look for in pics. Hers were not close ups and looked ok to me at the time.

I started in 2016. Thank you- this is BB Everly. Just scared I guess of all the details and dealing with customers. Figuring out PayPal, set-up on reborns, afraid of scammers, etc. I just haven’t been able to make that leap.

After spending thousands on supplies and painting numerous dolls to give away, I decided to list one to see what would happen. He sold within a few days, I think. I was pretty happy with him at the time, but I see now that he has no detail.
