Eyebrows and Air Dry...Help

Ughhhhhhhhh.

I always LOVE how my babies come out.

Except for the eyebrows.

Eyebrows drive me CRAZY. How does everyone else get these baby fine lines? I have cut my brush to maybe three hairs. I still get either literally nothing…or too thick a line.

What am I missing?

Would love some help. Thanks!

Have you tried a Prisma pencil?

Yes, but they don’t mark the airdry painted babies at all, for some reason.

I know they mark heat-set paint babies but I’m working on an airdry painted baby right now.

The struggle is real…

Using a brush like Christine’s is a game changer! You can get just the brush or the book andthe brush, or take a class from her in person. Her course really improved my eyebeows.
(idk what country you’re in but here is a link for the US)

I use air dry and draw right over the unvarnished paint…

I use air dry too and struggled hard with prisma pencils at first. Adding more texture by sealing twice helped a lot but I’m currently dipping the tip of my sharpened pencil in distilled water to get more pigment when I draw brows.

I just dip it the water, hold it for a second, wipe it off, and draw 2-3 hairs. It’s a trick I learned in college from one of my friends that majored in painting to get more pigment from waxy/hard pencils and chalks. She would also add rubbing alcohol to her water and sometimes soak the whole pencil, but I’m not that brave haha.

I use prismacolor pencil on air dry. It works the best over a very matte varnish or sealer. The rebornFx products are the best I have found for pencil. Pencil need to be very sharp.

Use a different brand of pencil.

Where can I get it? I only see the tutorials on DBS.

Maybe I can ask Christine at Yophi’s doll show if she sells just the brush.

I’m sure she’ll have some at Yophi, yeah!
Here is the link for just the brush, Irr has it too

Thank you!

I use heat set paint but Christine brush is the only brush I’ll use. It’s perfect. Game changer for me

Thanks, everyone. I doublechecked and somehow, the colors I bought were not Prismacolor. They were a different brand. I bought a Prismacolor and look what I got! AMAZING! (The hairs on top of the eyebrows – the rest were paint – and the tiny side and under lashes).

Please note that I am doing super-dramatic work on the eyes as this is an alternative reborn. The initial strokes were very feather-light.
