I love this kit. Something about her. Before I purchase the kit though, I need to know if anyone has painted her with air dry paint. I saw macphersons statement about heat set paint as a primer. Thing is, I don’t do heat set, at all. Not even a little. I have animals in my home, kids, etc. So, that is out of the question for me. Has anyone painted her with air dry exclusively and had it go well?

If you air dry you should be fine. I think the problem was the GHSP. Make sure you prime well.
