Hi there everyone! one of the things I haven’t really thought about is shading the ears when I’m painting. What I mean by this is does anyone do shading inside the ears? How do you do it? The doll I’m working on right now, Polly’s inside of the ears looks really white. Do I leave the inside of the ears white?

As I am doing skin tone colors, I will go back and put an extra layer of red, purple, and blue. The inside of the ear should be darker. Search on YouTube. You should probably be able to find a tutorial or photos of reborns to see how they paint the ears.
I paint inside the ears, same as what Lisa said, and then I go back in and paint the inner ear with the colors I mix up for creasing and then sometimes I add a little brown to the very inner part.
I’m a little light with mine, but place more shadow under that part that’s sticking out then darker down where the hole should be.
Not the best ear pictures but you can sort of see.
