Dollee by Ping Lau is now being advertised by Irresistables as: 2026 Numbered Edition Offer-SOLD OUT. Open edition kits are now available. She was a LE of 100. What the heck is up with that!? Are they now being called numbered editions instead of limited editions? I love the blonde prototype but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to justify paying over $200 for a kit and I have no idea how you’d paint the inside of her mouth.

Seems this is happening quite a bit now with the “first” and “second” editions. Now numbered editions??
I don’t think there are any true Limited Editions any more. 
Sunna is sold out LE of 2200
Christopher is not sold out but LE of 3400
Maxan (Hornbogen) not sold out LE of 1900
Just a few examples but sheesh. Can you actually call an edition of literal thousands a Limited Edition??? How long will it take the “not sold out” one to become sold out?
With thousands available, just how desirable are they from a collector viewpoint?

I don’t get the limited editions either. Sunna was sold out but LLE has got another pre order going. Lovely on Mac’s site says the pre order was open for a month, closed July 21st, is a limited edition of 300 kits and yet the pre order is still open…huh?

Sunna sold out at of the initial pre-order, but LLE always has the remainder of the edition available for sale. She doesn’t have all of the “left over” ones poured and shipped to her until she runs out of her stock (hence another pre-order, but still the original set size). Brenda always orders extra kits beyond what she has pre-orders for.
Yeah I just don’t get why it says LE of 300 unless that’s how many kits sold. I can’t believe it would have that much of a poor count with a month long pre order but heck if I know.
Probably would have sold out quickly if Cassie had posted a limit before opening for pre-order. Buyers like that approach and rush to buy one.

I don’t remember ever seeing that Dollee was limited to only 100. The first 100 were an early edition that Ping offered first at the West Coast Show. We were able to reserve them at the show, knowing they would ship months later. Not all 100 were reserved at the show, so the rest went up for presale on Irresistibles. The only problem I have with the whole situation is that the regular editions were released too soon after we got our first editions. They should have given us time to paint them before releasing the rest.

I guess I don’t get what you’re saying. I don’t think Lovely is a 300 edition. Irresistables says the edition is TBD.

I don’t think they are selling well and that is why you can still order them. They probably haven’t reached the 300 yet???
Which is weird bc most small edition sell out almost immediately.
And if Brenda has 25 people who pre ordered maybe she bought 50 kits for non pre order sales of the edition didn’t sell out on preorder and now has to sell those 50??

Like I said if Cassie had indicated the edition size would be 300 when preorder started, she would probably have sold out quickly.

@pia oic what you’re saying now. Yeah probably, weird she didn’t announce that but I guess I don’t get why the pre order date was set for a month then? I don’t remember that being a thing on a set edition.
@kareninflorida Thanks. Irrsistables says TBD and with a month long pre order date I just assumed it would be higher. Was thinking Macs was a typo but guess not!
