I am working on my first reborn kit as some of you may know, but I also make handmade fabric dolls. I just wanted to share a couple of picture with you guys.
I really do have a love for creating dolls and collecting them. I fall in love with every single one I see. Dolls are like an obsession for me. I’ve been a collector since I was very young. This is a picture of ones my 7 year old has collected. I think she takes after her mom. Lol.
Reborning has always been a dream of mine but something I never thought I’d be able to do. Thanks to everyone who has helped make my dream a reality with all the advice along the way.
Thank you! I appreciate that. I used to sell them. Now when I do make them, I either gift them or donate them. They are hand sewn for the most part, so it was too hard to keep up with the demand selling them. It became work instead of a hobby. Lol.
Thank you, everyone! I really love making them and being able to customize them for the child I am making them for. The one with the glasses was for a little girl who just got her first pair of glasses. When she received the doll that also had glasses, her smile was priceless. And that’s really why I do what I do.
I also make doll clothing and little girl clothes. I am a single mom who works full time, so I am only able to work on my projects late at night. One day, I’d really love to have a doll shop with handmade fabric dolls and hand painted reborn dolls with all the cute little accessories. It would be amazing to make a living by doing something that I love so much and I’m so passionate about. Until then, I’ll just keep working on my re-borning skills and pray they get better. lol.
Aw those are adorable! I’m finding that my doll obsession is spreading to other types of dolls. I never had cabbage patches when I was younger so now I have bought two at thrift shops. I bought a fashion Barbie head and some monster high dolls to possibly repaint in the future. I also like some of the Waldorf style babies. This is what it will look like when they clean my house out someday
Haha!! You should see my closet!
I love Waldorf dolls too! I’ve made a few over the years. They take a lot of practice and time to make as well, but so worth it in the end.
My grandmother used to make me look alike cabbage patch dolls. I still have them but don’t have real CP doll from my early years. I wish I did though. They are pretty valuable now.
My little one collects the Baby Alive dolls. We love those too.
