Does this seem odd?

In February I got an email from someone wanting to buy Sebastian. She was very excited and asked if she could make payments. I sent her the details of the layaway and she agreed to it. Then I got an email saying her boyfriend was going to buy it for her when he got his tax refund. I asked her if her boyfriend was going to make payments or pay in full and she said he would pay in full. She was super excited. I took the box to the post office to get the exact shipping cost. She wanted the higher priced shipping because she couldn’t wait to get him.I asked her if she wanted me to put a different name on the birth certificate. She said she’d like Sebastian as a middle name and Luca as a first name. I let her know i was putting him on reserve for her and she thanked me for that. This was on February 20th. On the 24th I sent her an invoice for the full amount and got no response. I sent an email asking if she still wanted him. I waited a few days. No response. So I sent an email asking if she was okay and let her know that I was going to have to take him off reserve if I didn’t hear from her. Still no response. All of our communications were back and forth replies on the original email. Now all those emails have disappeared from my computer. They were there yesterday and I did not delete any of them. This is making me nervous because I don’t know how this can even happen and I’m concerned about my computer being hacked. Any ideas about what’s going on here? I have no problem relisting the doll but I just think this is very weird.

Scary. I don’t know how that could happen.

Would it do it if she deleted everything on her end?

I don’t know but I have a really uneasy gut feeling about the whole thing.

It should not delete anything on your computer if she deleted hers on her computer! This is very odd, to think someone would hack your account over changing her mind about wanting a doll? But you never know, there are some strange people out there! I hope you get it all sorted out!
Oh and yes I was going to say, I’d change my passwords for email and PayPal accounts too

There’s a reason you have an uneasy feeling; listen to your gut instinct.

That’s really odd to have your messages disappear.

Seems very odd…usually when we sense something strange , it is because there is something strange going on…!!..

Yes, listen to the voices in your head! I mean…your gut. LOL!! Seriously, even without the missing emails, I’d say her lack of responses to your email says volumes. If she really wants it, she can pay when you relist.

No, it shouldn’t. Otherwise another person could control what you save. Their deleting only affects what’s on their computer.

@jeanhai I agree about changing your passwords but using another computer to do it.

Are you sure you didn’t save them in a file somewhere? (I ask because I file mine) If you are using Hotmail/outlook you can do a search to find them. Also, you can sometimes restore deleted posts.

I’m 100% certain.

Are they gone from your sent emails? Do you reply to hers? If you reply it should be in the sent emails. Is it hotmail/Gmail or some private type server? I wonder if it’s possible that she asked the email service to remove them. Once a lady put a deposit on a horse is had for sale and then changed her mind. I called and emailed after no response and instead of responding she sent the police to my house to ask me to stop asking lol…I just felt bad that I was gonna end up keeping that deposit. Oh well…some ppl…

Not sure if this would cause it but she may have put you down as 'report spam" which might delete all traces of her information from your computer so that you are unable to contact her again…That would be what I would think may have happened…BUT it may just block you too so I’m not really sure how that works - just a thought???

No, that is not what happens. There was once a woman who was spamming me with ever increasing number of emails daily. So i ended up reporting her for spamming to her service provider, and they closed her account, but her emails remained in my computer.

jeanhai, have a look in all your folders, especially TRASH, also as suggested above SENT folders for the emails you sent to her. They must be there somewhere. Have a look at webmail, even if the emails got accidentally deleted on your computer they should be still in your webmail.

I changed my passwords on Gmail and PayPal. I guess all I can do now is assume she changed her mind and hope for the best.
