Do you think

Ok, I changed my photos… Again. AND lowered all my prices… AGAIN. Lolol my question is… Should I try throwing in a bunch of extras? Should I take them apart and try and sell as kits? Should I offer to root hair on my baldies? And add a piece of my soul? Lolololl any ideas would be helpful, I am plum out of them. :eggplant:( I don’t have an emoji of a plum, but at least the color is right) damn eggplant? Really? But no plum… How about that!:heart:

I just looked and your prices are low enough! I love Libby and Anne especially though they are all adorable…It has to be because of Thanksgiving cause that is the only reason I can see for them not having sold…Maybe everyone is having big family get togethers for Thanksgiving and having to buy lot of extras at the moment…it should pick up after then don’t you think?

I don’t have an answer for anyone but I would go easy on lowering your prices too low. Maybe people are just waiting for the prices to go down, don’t give them too much satisfaction. I did read somewhere that someone who used to add in all the extras has stopped doing it (clothes) because most people want to shop for their babies themselves. Our tastes in baby clothes varies greatly and maybe what you think is beautiful—they don’t, therefore making the outfit you chose something they will never use. Just think about it. I can see including the paci, hairband, those kinds of small things but I thought the cutting back on the clothes might be a good idea. HECK what do I know, I don’t even sell babies!!! Ignore me.

I so feel you, lordt I feel you, I have had mine on R site and nothing, I got one fav and it was prolly that teen begging everyone for a free baby doll in port spanish. I would rant if I could but I fear I would offend. But, I do not feel like selling my doll for less than 300, so I will wait. My Sadie is on reborns under Southern Distressed Nursey if you wanna look. I just think how can you make a profit if you drop prices to 100 or 150 like some have? I buy baby cloths from buy buy baby, blanket from Marshalls, and we all spend almost 100 if not a tad more in supplies to make one. I just hope sells pick up for all of us. I hope your baby sells soon too though  I hope we all have nice sells as Christmas time approaches.

No you make perfect sense…a person is not going to be ultimately happy with the baby if they buy it based on the wardrobe that comes with it…(maybe if we were selling to a little kid…yes but not grown women.) Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - everyone has different taste…The only thing that could be considered a negative by some that I can see with Nikki’s dolls is that they are older sculpts and lots of ladies who collect will already have them…that it the ONLY thing that I think could hold up her sales other than Thanksgiving holiday coming and people are focused on other things and the Christmas buying bug hasn’t fully set in yet. One point you made that is VERY IMPORTANT…you can’t keep dropping your prices or people who have been watching will notice and will hold off buying waiting to see how low you will go…Your reborning is good Nikki. Worth your original prices…Just be careful in dropping your prices to get a sale that it doesn’t discourage you from reborning…it can be just as much a disappointment selling one too cheap as having to wait for the sale…Just a few more weeks and things should pick up!

No, no and no. If you lower your prices any more you’ll be giving them away. Try to be patient and just wait.

Have you tried posting ads on Facebook? Maybe making them lighter and marketing towards parents who are shopping for their kids? I sell mine through eBay with an auction starting at what I paid for all of my supplies. I also have a YouTube channel that I use as a marketing tool to let people know what I have available. I also use my YT channel to make videos of the babies I have available that shows the coloring that the camera doesn’t pick up as well as what they’re coming home with.
I haven’t had any issues with sales.
Just a suggestion! Good luck.

Thank you everyone for your advice:-) I should get it together and get on etsy and on Amy’s site. I could even do eBay , I guess, as a last resort. Obviously, I worked on to many dolls!!! They really stated to add up… But it’s never good to be negative and think… They won’t sell. My positive thinking tends to get me in trouble!! :grimacing::grimacing: it usually takes me a month to finish 2 dolls… That’s a lot of months of dolls! I think it looks bad that I have so many listed. It looks like I just whip them out and that’s not true. I have 3 more that need rooting, but I think it’s better if I don’t list them until somethings goes. At least I have learned that this has to just be a once in a while hobby for me, and not count on it for extra income. I love it, but every single penny I make and way more… Goes right back in. From now on, I will do one kit at a time, and only do my favorite kits:-) maybe that will help me balance out all the other things I need to do, that I put off… Because there is nothing I would rather do!!! Lol anyway before Christmas I’ll have a buy one get one sale! We will see if I can even give them away!!! Lolololll

The market has really changed, I know I took a long while off selling… But before I couldn’t make them fast enough. I don’t know what I’m doing different. Except making better babies! I keep racking my brain. It hurts! ( the brain rattling)

Piglet—do you think you could maybe change some of the ones you have listed to a different gender? Maybe a different gender and pictures might make them move. However if you are comfortable with who they are then I guess it’s that old “waiting game”. I hope they start moving soon for you. I know you can sure rack up a lot of money in these things.

Yes… I suppose I can change the gender! On most of my listings, I do show the baby as the alternate gender in a few of the pictures. It’s tricky! As many details to selling as making the baby!!!

It’s DOLLYMAMAS NURSERY❤️

It is not you sweet lady…it IS the market…they have definitely changed and they will continue to change…Reborns have been around for a long while now and they will remain but eventually it will be die hard collectors still buying after every one else is gone.I have watched it for the past 5 years and it does slowly drop back each year…It is not exactly like Beanie Babies but it did come in as a big new fad the same way, though reborns have been around longer than its been a ‘fad’ it took off big in the early 2000 and has run well…people who don’t even like dolls got in on it and there were even some places in the world that carrying a reborn was considered the latest ‘accessory’ like carrying a purse. then there were tv shows, etc and it just blew out…was really really wonderful…unfortunately fads do fade and reborns have slowly taken that course…It’s not all bad news though…there has, is and always will be a doll market and I think reborns are here to stay…I just think it’s going to take a lot more thought to market yourself in the future…You’ll have to reborn the newest latest kits so that you can compete and build a reputation that will last…I don’t mean a big name but a reputation that will draw and keep people coming back - especially die hard collectors …AND there will always be ladies like us who just love dolls… You just have to find your niche and learn to ‘roll with it’!

I am totally taking your advice Starr! It’s so funny because I thought reborns were a brand new thing when I started last summer!!! I thought it was the coolest thing EVER( still do) and never ever heard of anything like it before!!! I want reborns to be accessories again!!! That would be awesome!!! Like carrying a little dog!!! Lololol

Don’t lower your prices. They will sell. Just give it time. I have two that have been for sale forever and no one is interested. I’ll just let them sit there. Eventually they will sell.

Starr, let me tell ya… First I took over what was supposed to be a formal dining room in my new house. It makes the house look messy because doll headsand parts are everywhere as soon as you walk in the house. It’s right off the foyer and it’s a open room so I can’t shut the door. My hubby throws sheets over everything if anyone comes by :frowning: THEN… I started to take over what WAS supposed to be a guest room. Now it’s the finished doll house, and storage. There is just not enough space… Where can I put that storage??? Maybe an addition or build a pole barn? Hell, I could just live out there if I had a pole barn! Light bulb moment!'

Or maybe put a caravan into the back yard and move out there and then you can have the whole house for the dolls…lololo
