DIY big cuddle body..pic heavy

So, I decided to try to make a cuddle body with a doll pattern that I already have. The only single head I have is off a 24" Ashton Drake doll so I had to resize the pattern to 179%. Lol!! Also, it’s limbs are weighted per the instructions but the instructions are for a 14" baby so this thing is super heavy! I had some fun posing and taking pics of him though. The body is made from super soft, stretchy, suede.

Interesting! His poses are so natural. I love that about weighted cuddle bodies.

Thanks! It’s a cute rough draft…but it will have to be smaller in the future.

Looks nice. Did you use the Selah pattern for his body?

Yea, it’s the Selah. Have you made it before…normal size? Lol!

No I haven’t made it yet. I am waiting on my fabric to arrive. I have been wanting to try it for a cuddle baby but am going to make the smaller one first. I am planning on making some of the little blessing babies to donate.

That will be so nice! The pattern is pretty easy and straightforward, especially if you’re not doing the cloth head. I had a little bit of a problem trying to get the arc sewn into the elbows and knees because of the bottom half already being stuffed. I can’t wait to see yours!

Yes that is the one.

I think this is the body pattern that Reggie is using for the bodies she is making and selling?

I am not sure if it is the same one but it does look very similar.

Looks a little different. There’s a seam down the belly on hers. Very similar though!

You are right it is different but still looks like a great option.

Just ordered this pattern. It is on sale for $12 instead of $30.

I went ahead and ordered it and will likely modify the body to be similar to Reggie’s with the seam. I am guessing there is also a seam in the back of the body. No plans to make one soon.

Wow, I love how posable it is!
