Delta Dawn mohair, what needles?

What needle size works best for micro/monorooting delta Dawn mohair? I have 46g needles by heavenly illusions but these needles have too many barbs and cause it to be pluggy. I also tried 46g crown needles and it worked a little better but I’m having a hard time catching the hair every time I poke a hole. I really want to use my delta dawn hair instead of the hp locks. I think it feels more like real baby hair…
Can anyone tell me what works for them?
Thanks
~Paige

I use the pink heavenly Illusions needles. But I never had good luck with Delta Dawn. I bought several batches when I started. But the ends never seemed to be going the same direction. So I was constantly flipping it, trying to find the root. Then I discovered other brands and figured out they were much easier to work with. HP baby locks roots very easily.

Yeah it is hard to work with because of the direction of the hair and that it doesn’t come in neat bundles like hp locks. I love that hair and usually use it because it’s so easy to work with and the pink needles do work great with it! but it doesn’t feel as soft as the DD hair, to me anyways… not sure what to do.
Thank you for replying :slightly_smiling_face:

I found Delta Dawn difficult . It tangles and is always changing direction.Very hard to work with for me. :footprints: :baby:

:frowning: I’m disappointed because every time I see that someone has used that hair and it comes out beautifully I really want to keep trying with it. I’ve rooted a couple dolls with it but it was just so hard to keep it clean and realistic looking. And lots of waste. I wish Dawn would zip tie small bundles of it like hp mohair.

There is a lot of waste for sure . I have been rooting for 10 plus years and I wont buy Delta Dawn . when this last batch I have is gone, no more. It is soft and very shiny but oh so difficult.
