Damage on Naomi and Charlotte firsts

Ladies check your Naomis and Charlottes out carefully. I bought 2 of each firsts and one of each of them had holes and a large gouge or chunk of vinyl missing. These are not even what you would use for seconds maybe practice and I’m not too happy. The damage is not acceptable to me, I hope they will take them back or replace the heads on these. I didn’t check them out carefully when they arrived but started a wash on Charlotte and noticed a dark spot which was a hole and then checked inside and a 1 to 2 inch chunk of vinyl was gouged out I though whoops I should check the others out and yes Naomi had same problem, somebody in quality control screwed up

These were not seconds check yours out.

BB has always done the right thing. Get with them tomorrow and I’m sure they’ll replace the kits.

Yes what Amy said. They have wonderful customer service so it shouldn’t be a problem to get this resolved.

Not to hijack your thread but I just posted about a faulty limb on my Fei Yen kit. To be honest though I don’t know if it was there before or not, but its just been sitting in a bin since arriving home and getting washed so I can’t imagine it developed then. Hopefully BB will fix your issue too.

I had got a seconds Realborn tummy plate and there was a missing chunk of vinyl but this is a Seconds. I just never saw a “kit” with missing vinyl

I’m sure BB will help you out. There customer service is EXCELLENT

I’m not worried about customer service, they are great, I just wanted to make sure you check your kits. I never bother usually if I get firsts because I have never had a problem in 6yrs of buying. I did have one kit that the vinyl was split under the nose and they replaced it no problem and they are very prompt and efficient with questions and problems.I already sent an email and photos, the rest of the kits are fine.Of course I have purchased an awful lot of kits and supplies lately but now no more dolly dollars, oh well. hugs to all.

That should be “seconds”, however as it is on the flange and will not be visible, it could be easily fixed, after it is painted, by thick layer of E6000 to strengthen the area. However, as you paid for perfect kits I would definitely be asking for replacements, or partial refund.

Oh no! Definitely message BB. They will make it right I’m sure. One of my realborns (an early one) had a yellow mark on a leg and they shipped me a new one I think by the next day.

I received a message from BB and they will replace my heads for me, they said that because it is on the flange and most times will not be seen they pass them as firsts. I will be happy to get the new heads, of course, they said the
new heads might have the same problem. All I can do is hope they don’t. Thanks everyone for your advice.

I just received one of my BB orders today with 2 Naomi and 2 Charlotte and Daisy…Just checked over all of them and can’t see any problems with them other than one thigh has a couple tiny bubbles in the inside but looking at it I don’t think it is going to present a problem…The vinyl is still thick enough under the bubble that it should not balloon out…I will probably put a pin hole or small slit in the bubble on the inside just in case so no air pockets in there and tries to expand…but it all looks great …thanks for the heads up though as I may not have looked at them for a while…

I didn’t notice the problem till I put the first wash on it and put her in the oven, when I baked it the hole enlarged and showed up.I thought I had spilled a drop of paint on it and upon inspection, nope not the case. They were very nice about it and I appreciate it.

Have fun with them. I do mine as a hobby and an occassional custom as I’m retired now. Keeps me busy and is very relaxing for me,then its hard to part with them . Do you do yours as an income or extra income?

I have been doing them as a business for about 4 years now…It is a bit of extra work because you have to file your tax figures but I have to say that it is the love of it that has kept me in it, not the money. I tend to turn my money back over into the businesses more than anything or use it to do dolls for ‘special gifts’ for people for different reasons…mostly when I feel that someone who can’t afford one really needs one for one reason or another, be it comfort, pleasure or just away to bring a smile and there are times when a person really stands out to me as genuine and very kind or giving and I will surprise them with one because they impressed me with their unselfish nature…SO…I really don’t look at my ‘business’ as a business…it will always be a hobby to me and a way to bring a little sunshine into others lives…
My moto for my nursery is BUTTERFLIES & BOWS - Where Smiles are Born…so hope they will always bring a smile…

Very selfless and I agree sometimes you just know someone needs a baby. My little moto has been " when you’re in a bit of a muddle, give your baby a cuddle" . It hokey I guess but I always say if you have a rocking chair and a baby to cuddle you’ll be fine. Take care , hugs.

Thanks for the heads up. I just bought a Fei Yen kit from BB a couple of weeks ago and never checked it out to see if it was acceptable. I’ll do that after supper.
