Customer wants money back

Well I’ve had a few problems with customers but this one beats the lot! Have no idea what to do.
So this woman has repeatedly let me down but finally bought a reborn today, at a discounted price I might add! Shes paid, ive not not posted yet but she has just asked for her money back as shes had an unexpected bill.
But I’ve already spent the money!! I put it straight into reborn supplies that I’ve been wanting to get. What do I do? :unamused:

I would say you do not do refunds as you can’t sell it as new once it has sold. Just say you are sorry for her financial problems but that you had discounted this baby for her and all sales are final.

You shouldnt have spent it until she was happy with the doll once it arrived to her.

She hasn’t got the doll yet, there is nothing wrong with it

I know. You should have waited.

That’s besides the point though, so if I hadn’t spent the money do you think I should have given it her back? I can take some money out my bills account but in all reality she shouldn’t be buying dolls she can’t afford.
I might give up this whole thing, dealing with customers is far too stressful. Ive had it all lately, someone sent me a fake payment screenshot shot the other day, im constantly getting messed about.

Just tell her you do not refund once sold, personally I think she purchased on impulse and then regretted it but is using a unexpected bill to play on your heart strings

She been asking me about different reborns i have for sale for weeks, she kept changing her mind, asking for payment plans, telling me she’s going to pa for one and then not. I started a custom for her amd she changed her mind, but my sister ended up buying that one. I have a feeling this was her plan all along and if I dont give her the money back she will claim its damaged or something :sleepy::sleepy: I dont need this stress, im just a normal person enjoying a hobby and making people happy, well most of the time!! Lol

That is exactly what she may do. Better to refund her the money and list the doll.

I agree ~ refund her and list the doll. She sounds like a troublemaker.

I would avoid the trouble and refund her but also let her know it may take time since you already used it to pay your expenses

Well i told her no, all sales are final. and she seems fine about it, so time will tell.
I thought about it, and what’s the worse that can happen? She leaves me a bad review? So what. I have plenty of very happy customers and the best reviews I could wish for  I will simply block her if she starts trying to give me a bad name. I have photos of the baby in immaculate condition and I am going to unbox it and get my daughter to film me wrapping it up before I post tomorrow. Not complete proof but its something as well as “witnesses” that it is in exactly the same condition as advertised. And she paid next to nothing for it so if she wants to spend 3 times that again taking me to court shes welcome.

Well I don’t normally do refunds but in a case like this I would have as well because the doll has not been sent yet. What is the worst she can do? I will tell you. She can get the doll, damage it and get on Ebay/Paypal and post pics and tell them you sent her a damaged doll. Then Paypal will lickity split give her the money right back whether you have it or not. They will deduct it from your account. Then you are stuck with a damaged doll if she sends it back and no money. That is what is the worst that can happen.

She can do a PayPal refund and they’ll give her back her money and cause you a headache. ESP if they take it out of your account

If she leaves a bad review she can do a lot of damage too through social media and ruin you reputation. I had a bride do that to me and blasted my photography Facebook page by her and all her friends bashing me and bullying me, having conversations about what a horrible person I was and a terrible photographer. This bride was a friend and I gave her tons of freebies and a huge discount. Her wedding day it was raining and her mother took over the entire wedding day and wouldn’t let us do our portraits. No one danced or did anything plus she asked for her photos every day until I gave them to her. During this time my brother died and we had no idea what happened because his wife wouldn’t tell us so I had a ton of crap raining down on me. This one person pretty much single handedly ruined my photography business. She never posted the beautiful photos I took :woman_shrugging:t2:

It was through a selling page, and bank transfer. Her request as she doesn’t have papal.
Your making me feel bad now but she really has given me the run around the last few months,.changing her mind, asking for extra items ect. Ive boxed 3 different babies up for her, my own fault for doing it i suppose, I won’t do it again. Not to this extreme anyway, there is good customer service and there is completly bending over backwards for someone, working well into the night for her on one occasion…

Since you gave her an extreme discount , why not list it immediately for that amount so you can recoup the funds and refund?

Better refund her … you would have a heck of a trouble with this person

If she paid via bank transfer, she can file a chargeback. Then she’ll have the doll and her money back as most banks side with their own customer.
I normally have a no refund policy as well, but in this case, I would have refunded and blocked as customers like this are the ones who usually cause issues and it’s not worth it.
They can blast you all over social media, leave bad review, throw you in scam groups (not that it makes any of it true, but unfortunately I’ve seen it happen)
Just make sure to check over every inch and photo/video the packing the doll and everything. I also for ready to ship dolls, don’t spend any of that money until the buyer has doll in hand and I know all is well. If they don’t reply after getting the doll, I hold the money untouched for 30 days, just in case.
