Great! I’m anxious to see the difference in quality so I can feel better about choosing or not choosing the more expensive one in the future.
I think it should be a head shot and a body shot. Anything else I think should be a suggestion and not a rule. Some are opening the eyes which is a challenge in it’s self, but a fantastic one by the way. I think it should be left up to the artists on how they want to present their Celeste.

This is the first closed eyed baby i have chosen to open the eyes.
And we aren’t supposed to post any WIP’s, correct? That way we won’t know who has submitted what baby until it is all done and the winner is shown.

I agree that the extremities should be exposed in the full body picture.

I have one of each (different sizes though) and I will try to remember to take a photo of them so you can see. Really no comparison in my opinion. The fabric is nicer, the stitching is better and the joints are completely different in the more expensive bodies. I don’t really know if there is a difference in the size of the body (fullness?) since I don’t have the same body to compare.

Oh thank you Pia. I don’t want to be using shoddy materials. How do they compare to the new BB bodies because I use a lot of those now?
I used the 2348 for Celeste which is NOT the economy body. It does seem like its been slimmed down a little and the leg caps made shorter which are good things.

I just ordered the Celeste Doll on Memorial Day and waiting for her arrival! I have only completed a few dolls and I must say the mouth on this baby has me a bit concerned! I would love to hear any suggestions from other Artists on the best way to go about this? Also, Since this is a contest are we opening the eyes on this baby or leaving the doll as she is? I am going to be brave and enter in this competition! Is there a reward for the Winner of this competition?
That’s just the reason why mine is staying closed. I keep looking at her thinking about it then tell myself no not going there. More I look at her more I kind of like the closed eyes since it looks like you jutted pulled the pacifier out of her mouth. Remember that look from when my kids were babies and would pull it out.

Welcome to the challenge. No rewards other than satisfaction of making her a beautiful baby (if possible with that mouth) but think we all can do it. Shading and coloring is going to be the challenge with this.
The bodies are quite different the tie one is not the same soft doe suede body. It is a more ( scratchy type material) not as soft by any means. Sewing quality is not the same I have purchased both and prefere the cable tie one. Much better quality and I always take in the front since it seems so big all the time. This is an ok body to use just not as nice imo

I prefer the one with the cable ties, not the strings. MUCH better quality.

I didn’t know they were better quality either. I thought they were just charging you extra for the cable ties.

I have taken pictures of the 2 body types. The better body is on the left of the photo. In the last photo I tried to demonstrate the difference in how soft the fabric is.

I can see there is a difference, especially in the fabric. Thanks for all the trouble Pia. You always go the extra mile! I think I’ll bite the bullet and buy better bodies.
