Hi there ladies! I recently picked this up at my local AC Moore and was wondering if this kind of acrylic paint is ok to use on reborn dolls:
The brand is called Pre by Nicole. The paint wasn’t very expensive. I’ve heard of some using acrylic paints. I would need to use air dry paints as I don’t have access to a nuwave or anything like that.
Thanks,
Julie

You probably could but because they’re not made for reborning they may not hold up as well. I don’t use air dry at all, I have no clue. It would be worth a try, but I wouldn’t use them on a doll you were planning to sell unless you were certain that they would hold up properly and not fade etc.

Ok well if not, I can still use it on my paintings.

I paint with regular acrylic paint, but am not familiar with this brand. What you want is one where the pigment won’t fade over time.

Can you use this paint or ultimate fusion over heat set? Like for hair?

You can use ultimate fusion over heat set. I have Christine Wooley’s UF hair painting set and it specifically says you can use it over heat set. There’s a sealer they have that you’re supposed to seal with first. Don’t know about other air dry paints though.

Do you use sealer or just paint from the bottle?
You seal the head first, then mix the paint with distilled water and a drop of their blend flow medium, then paint it on.

Look on the package and see if it says they’re archival or have UVLS (UV protection. If so, they’d probably be fine. I use Liquitex Soft Body or Hard Body paints myself. I really like them.

I have never used heat set paint, but I think you can use any acrylic paint over it.
