I’ve been making my own reborns for a while now, but could never quite get the hang of darker skin tones. I tried many times and eventually decided to just buy one. Yesterday I found the perfect little baby.
She’s about 22", bald cuddle baby (just what I was looking for!) and she’s dressed in a traditional Indian outfit. The artist lives about an hour away so I will be picking my new baby up this Saturday!
I can’t believe no one snapped this cutie up as soon as she was available!
Now to pick a name…
I didn’t know she offer online classes. I know she said, if you email her, she will send you a copy of her ebook. She didn’t say if you had to pay for it.
I bought her ebook from her. It costs about $16. It has in-depth pictures and details about how she paints an Ethnic/African American baby it’s the same as her tutorial book just in ebook form. You can message her on Instagram.
Hi, heads up, the dolls she makes are not African American and she never refers to them as such. Her current tutorial is for a skintone inspired by a real Eritrean baby. She is from the Netherlands.
Thank you for the heads up! I didn’t realize she didn’t call them African American. I follow her on Instagram and did remember she’s from the Netherlands.
I have bought babies from other artists once in a blue moon. I don’t know what it is, but somehow, a baby from someone else, with their own work, is just refreshing, like a Christmas gift or something.
I never had a baby by someone else before! But gosh, she’s just the best. A completely different feeling than holding one I made.
I’ve also been thinking I’ll try the artist’s classes at some point, I’ve now got a great example that I can study from all angles!
