Beware of this eBay Bidder 8/7/26

I listed a kit last week. My listing was marked USA buyers only. Several bids took place, and then this bidder came in and bumped up the bid: alle-8462. A little later she sent me a message stating she did not realize I do not sell to international sellers (means she did not read my entire listing before bidding). She told me she was in the UK and her profile on eBay indicated it, so I told her I would sell to her if she won the bid since I used to ship to the UK, and I’d make an exception. She won and instantly wrote me to say: “$512 is too steep for me.” I asked here where that price came from as the winning bid was $375 on my end and was 278 Pounds Sterling on her end when I checked a currency converter.

I’m guessing eBay sent her a total that contained her duty fees, taxes, and possibly the shipping amount for international shipping, and she decided she does not want to pay.

She now keeps asking me to relist the item so she can “buy it for that amount”. I asked her what amount she means and explained that even if I let her do a Buy It Now, the price on her end will be the same due to taxes and whatever. She has a feedback rating of 1, which is for an item she sold; so, he has no feedback as a buyer. I am guessing either she has no idea how to bid/buy on eBay (she got her account in 2024, so kind of new), is a possible scammer trying to get a “better” price out of me, or she is a kid. She’s been a time-waster.

So, you might want to put her on your Block List if you still use eBay.
