Besides neck rings

Are there any other ways to make it so the dolls head will turn easy (of course, without leaving the cable tie loose)? I might have asked this before. I’m not really sure lol Also, I have the hardest time putting neck rings on. Is there an easy way to do it?

It’s hard to put on, but I’ve really started liking them because they really stabilize the head. You can probably go up a size and it would be easier… I have and didn’t see any difference as far how it works or looks. If I didn’t have a ring, I would coat it with pledge.

I think some ladies coat the rim indent with super glue using a brush to make it smooth and slippery. Let dry thoroughly before assembly.

I am not sure what the issue you are having with the rings are. Mine pop on ok. Place the lip inside the ridge on one side, then slip the other side into place.

I’m not sure either. Maybe I’m trying to put it on the wrong way? I’ve always had issues with them, so I never use them. I also posted this question in another forum and someone mentioned using pledge. I think I may try that

Pledge for floors should work. It is glossy.

Are you putting the narrow part on first? It goes on first, slipping into the vinyl groove.

I wouldn’t buy a bigger one! My babies head popped out because the neck ring was too big :joy::scream:

Poor baby!

Poor baby did you get her all fixed?

Yes! I cut the neck ring smaller. MacPhersons must have sent me the wrong size

When I tightened the zip tie, it closed the neck ring.

I have never seen anyone do that, how innovative, lol!

I never use the neck rings. Buy the Krazy Glue that comes with the brush one wipe around the flanges neck, or limbs and it works great just make sure that it is dried totally before assembling

Oh dear. Did it have a plug?

I have used a size up ring but always use the plugs… and they seem to help keep it attached.
Also any non-BB kit is not really made for rings… I think it is a guess on what may fit. If I am correct BB makes/orders them… and they have all their kit use rings/plugs. (Other than Emmy…)

I could be wrong but I think other dealers buy them from BB and guess what might fit. They just recently started selling rings and plugs also… or at least I never seen them before. lol

I always have trouble using a neck ring and a plug at the same time. The neck rings tend to push the opening further closed, so the plugs don’t fit anymore.

Warming the vinyl helps to make it easier to put the neck rings on .

I’ve never used rings or plugs and never had a problem. I use super glue in the neck and limb flanges and they turn easily after they’re dry. I apply it, and spread it out, with the tip of the applicator Just make sure you hold the parts sideways when applying the glue so it can’t drip onto the parts. I use Dr. Scholl’s moleskin to seal the neck and limb openings.

Someone advised me to use a satin ribbon by tieing it in the neck flange before inserting the head.
I have not tried it yet as my babies are all still WIP
