I’m having issues with Naillah’s belly plate. Her mommy didn’t want the plate that came with her because she wanted one that was anatomically correct.
Nailah is 18 inches so I purchased two plates because I wasn’t sure which would fit. One was listed as being for 15-18 inches and the other for 18-22 inches. I went with the smaller one, but now I think it may be too small. But the other looks to large IMO.
When she’s positioned right the plate looks fine but if she’s positioned where there’s no curve to her back, it looks too short. Is this normal? I don’t usually do anatomically correct plates.
Her mommy isn’t happy with how the plate looks so I think I’ll need to offer her a refund. I don’t think I can match the skin tone if I make another. But if anyone has any suggestions of a plate that might fit, I’d be interested.
Thanks ladies! I thought about a smaller body, but I’ve already went with a body a little smaller than the one that came with her to try to make it fit better. I’m afraid any smaller will look too small.
I guess I’ll just have to give her mommy the option of a full refund because she’s very set on having a belly plate and very unhappy with this one. She also thinks the shoulders look like they stick out above the body. They don’t. But I want her to be happy.
She’s very nice, and I think maybe just a slightly smaller fabric body or maybe removing some stuffing from the one she has might help?
You probably wouldn’t have any trouble finding her a new adoptive parent if your current customer is unsatisfied.
I think she’s just too difficult. The belly plate fit like it should be. She want a gender belly plate, so that’s what she got, I am not sure how you could have done it differently.
I just made Trouble with a torso on request, you can imagine the “trouble” of finding one that fit !
The only mistake you have made maybe is to not try it on before painting it to make sure the customer like it. You should refund only the bellyplate, maybe she will be able to find another one by herself…
That’s what I was going to say. Is she going to display her naked? The first belly plate looks the right size and fit. Move it down just a little and it will cover the fabric at the bottom and move the shoulders down a bit, too. Then take another picture. She probably should have gotten a full torso baby.
I’d imagine the plate would usually be covered with a diaper, and it would be perfect. And if she wanted the baby naked (I wouldn’t but it’s personal preference, she could position the baby correctly for it.
As for the shoulders, I like the current look, but you can remove stuffing between them to make them fall inwards a little. This will make the head floppier though. Good luck with the sweet baby
Thanks everyone for your kind words about little Nailah. She’s one of just a handful of ethnic babies I’ve done. So I’ve been nervous to show her to anyone. . I’ve offered her mommy a refund, but I think she’s decided she’s okay with the belly plate.
