Beginner kits

I just finished my very first doll and I am looking for a second kit to paint any suggestions? (are there some kits that are better for beginners? or are they all the same?)

Most of the Realborns have a lot of creases, so I recommend getting a BB regular kit. You will still get some crease practice, but won’t feel overwhelmed with the high details of a Realborn kit. If you aren’t comfortable with rooting lashes, then choose an awake baby and buy lashes to apply. BOL

Also open hands are a bit easier than closed. And tiny kits are not easier for beginners get a newborn or 0-3 month sized kit. Save the preemies for later.

I think closed eye kits are easier than open. You don’t have to worry about inserting and gluing eyes.

I don’t know who your first doll was, but Gemma is a really Sweet first baby.

Can you show us a picture of your first doll. I’m a beginner too and its really great to be able to see another persons work at the same skill level.
