Lately I’ve been absolutely loving silicone. The squishiness is just my favorite! I have experience painting silicone prosthetics and took Susan Gibb’s beginner painting class a few years ago, but my notes weren’t spectacular and I’ve had so much brain fog from my dysautonomia. I felt like I was doing well for a while but now I can’t help but feel like I’m getting worse with every baby I paint.
I liked Echo’s painting, but the matting only seemed to take on half of the head.
Big Olivia-Jayde was originally going to be a contest doll for me, but the paint has started peeling. I tried to cover it up and feel like it’s still so obvious. I got her from another seller on Reborns, not directly from the sculptor so I’m not sure how fresh the silicone is.
Mini Ezra has gotten a grainy texture all over despite me not doing anything differently other than moving painting rooms.
I’m getting really tired of feeling this way… Anyone have any advice for some good tutorials to follow or other classes I can do? I’m getting close to throwing in the towel

I hate you’re dealing with health issues! I don’t have any advice as I haven’t made any silicone dolls.
I do understand how you feel though, I have a lot of brain fog because of health issues and every time I go over a month not doing something I feel like I have to relearn everything
Praying you find answers, but don’t give up if it’s something you really enjoy!

Managed to get to an okay place with these two, still trying to get back into my groove! Wondering if I should put myself on the waitlist for Susan Gibbs DOTWE class as a refresher…

One thing that helped me is that I used to write down every step as I painted in a notebook. That way I could go back and look at each step and what mixes of paints I used on each doll. I did that for at least 12 years until we moved and I couldn’t find my notebook for a year😂
I finally found it last year

That’s a great idea! In my last painting space I had a white board where I’d write what layers I had done but it got lost in the shuffle of moving houses.
