Assembling Anna Lucia by Regina Swialkowski

I just received my Anna Lucia kit and while she is beautiful I have no idea how to go about assembling her. I can’t even figure out how I will get eyes inserted. I’m assuming the shoulder piece has to be cut out but the opening into the head is so small I couldn’t get eyes installed without enlarging the opening and then I’m afraid the parts to attach the head to the shoulders won’t still work. If anyone has any experience with this kit I would sure appreciate any help and/or encouragement available.

@Marissa? Maybe… I am not sure which kit it was but I know she did one with the chest/shoulder piece

maybe this will help with assembly… I think I got it off of https://www.puppen-traumland.de/shop/en/doll-kits/puppen-traumland-reg-kits/puppen-traumland-reg-kits-by-sizes/22-26-inch/822/pt30.02-anna-lucia-doll-kit

It’s really a two person assembly to run smoothly, and the eyes can only go in from the front and most don’t fit properly. I bought 4 pairs for her before finding ones that fit.

Thank you so much. This helps a lot. So, do you enlarge the opening into the head to get the piece to attach it to the chest plate inserted? It looks way to small as is.

I do not think so.

Oh Lord, not sure my poor arthritic fingers are going to make it through this! lol

I feel for you! Eye insertion on a normal kit is enough to hurt! :frowning:

Good Luck @Mrs.T

Thanks everybody. I’ll let you know how it turns out–if I can still make my fingers type after I’m done.

I hope you have success! My mom did an Anna Lucia for herself and getting the eyes in made her very nervous. She did heat the head and the eyes went in through the front.

I am beyond nervous about starting her. It’s scary to think about having her painted and rooted and then having everything fall apart when it comes to eyes and assembly. Tell your mom she has my admiration! I only hope I can fare as well.

I am sure your baby will turn out perfect! I can’t wait to see her/him!

Thought it was just m…e

@Mrs.T did you have success putting her together? I’m getting her and am nervous. Hope I didn’t make a mistake, lol.

I did have success and have gone on to do several dolls that assemble like her. The part that is most challenging is attaching the shoulder plate to her body. I have used a curved needle and thread and I have also threaded ribbon through the shoulder plate and sewn it to the body. I think she is a lovely sculpt and fun to do.

Thank you! I feel better.

I am also working on this kit at the moment and wondering the same thing. The hole in the bottom of the head on mine is smaller around than the tip of my pinkie, so I will have to cut it larger to fit anything in it at all. Here is hoping I don’t ruin her. How did yours end up turning out?

The hole in my Anna-Lucia is smaller around than the tip of my pinkie finger, this thing isn’t going to fit into it with out cutting a larger hole.

I have no experience with the larger kits like this. Can you ask the sculptor?
