Has anyone baked the Art Deco matte varnish? Is it just air dry… Or also bake able?
Interesting…But not sure! Curious as to what others say…
I’m currently using Americana Soft Touch Varnish (made by DecoArt). I really like it. If you put in on thinly with a paintbrush it leaves just the smallest hint of sheen and is silky soft. If you want totally matte you just blot it with a dry cosmetic sponge. No pouncing needed I’m not understanding why you would bake an air dry varnish.
Maybe she forgot something with ghsp or prisma? And already applied the varnish but now needs to bake? @Nikkiroc ,I haven’t used this type of varnish but I did use a few different types on my test torso and this same question came up about if you need to bake later on or want to add some blushing or other color, if it was bakeable. So I had all my air dry varnishes on this torso and then I used ghsp on top of them and baked again, all my varnishes seem to be OK after baking but I would try the deco art brand on a test piece just to be sure, if no one here has tried it and can let u know for sure!
Have you used the Americana Soft Touch Varnish over GHSP? I’d love to be able to get a softer finish with a sealer, but didn’t know if you can only use this with air dry paints?
I’ve had terrible luck with air dry over GHSP, but the other way round seems fine. I guess if you think of air dry as water based and GHSP as oil based, then it makes sense that the oil based product can go on top, but not vice versa. At least in my mind it does lol.
Thanks Izzy, that is a good way to look at it. I knew one couldn’t go over the other but have never figured out which way it was…this helps!
Without baking … How long should I let this"cure" ?
I was going to ask the same question, but now i know!
I think that’s why the golden satin glaze was recommended. I wonder if we could apply the after… Instead of mixed?
You mixed this air dry product into your ghsp matte varnish and then baked?
