Working on my Easter Swap baby and my oh my, the nerves are jangled! I want this baby to be absolute PERFECTION and I’m taking my dear, sweet time, believe me. Paying soooooo much attention to each and every teeny weeny detail…not unusual for me, but I just feel more ALERT, knowing it’s for such a special person, such a special occasion.
Remembering to take WIP pics, which is something I have never done, so that’s been fun, especially once some color actually started to show up…LOL
Just wondered if I was the only one who felt this way. I know some of you are old pros at these swaps, and do them a lot. This is my first one in about 5 years, so I feel like a newbie.
This is exactly how I feel. My baby is going to someone who does some pretty awesome work and has the most amazing babies so that has me a little on edge. I keep thinking “what if s/he isn’t good enough”. This is my first time doing a swap too so I’m sure that has me a little more frazzled than normal too.
I can’t imagine that anyone doing this swap is not a little nervous and excited. I don’ think it matters how long a person has been reborning either because we are reborning of another artist as well as hoping that we capture something in the baby that will touch the heart of the lady we are making the baby for…This is my first swap too…Painted heaps and heaps of custom orders and others but I am so much more tuned in to this swap baby because of the lady I am reborning it for…She is one of the sweetest members on this forum so I want this one to be extra special!!!
I know exactly what you mean Karen. I took all last summer off of reborning to get some projects done around here. I feel like a newbie again anyway from that. I want this doll to be perfect. It’s especially nerve racking when you know your partner does good work. I’m trying something new for me on this baby and that makes me even more nervous.
Very nervous. My partner has more experience than I. This is my first swap of any kind. I will probably make more than one of the kits on her list. Then choose the better one… I am also my worst critique… lol. Aren’t we all?
I hope everyone enjoys the process of making the babies and I hope the partners love their swap babies.
I’m right there with you @kareninflorida. I want my partner to fall in love and bond immediately. My nerves on the other hand make me worry she’ll be disappointed. Insecure is my middle name.
I am with you, this only my second swap and all of you ladies are soooooo talented, I hope I can compete with all of the pressure, but am excited also.
This is my first swap and I’m nervous too Karen! You are definitely not alone! My partner is a very sweet person and does beautiful work. The more I get to know her through our messages, the more I really like her, and this makes me want to do my very best work ever. The pressure is on! I’m having so much fun with it too though, in a hair-raising sort of way! LOL And just thinking of getting a surprise reborn done by her makes me feel like a little child with Christmas coming!
Talk about pressure I’m making one for you I have to say I’m having so much fun doing this swap and every step makes me more and more excited for the end result
