Another option for painting dolls

I recently met a wonderful artist who makes beautiful babies using artist grade oil paints. Her name is Jessia Lewis Collier. Jessica has found a way to use traditional Winsor and Newton oil paints and odorless thinning medium to paint and then heat set her vinyl to cure them. She recently taught a class of students at DOTW Expo her methods of painting. Her babies are lovely in person. I asked her to join my FB group so others can ask questions about how she does this. She is very sweet and generous to share. It is very interesting because we all used oils back in the day but not quite like she is doing. It is something worth considering if one is looking for other options. I still have plenty of Genesis but this is something I may play around with some on the side. Here is her table at DOTW Expo. She was right next to mine.

That’s neat! Does she use an oven to heat set them? Interesting.

Yes, she heat sets them at 265 for 9 minutes. She says she has found they need the extra minute.
