I love this stuff for all sorts of craft as I find it sticks really well to practically anything. Instead of buying the usual bottle this time I bought what I thought was a neat bargain - a ‘tacky pack’ consisting of 5 tiny bottles. 3 tacky, one washable and one gemstone. Got them yesterday and it seems runnier than normal and not as thick but the worst part is it doesn’t stick! Things I usually use it for just fell off even after extra coats. It’s like it’s not even the same glue. Has the formula been changed? Or is the ‘tacky pack’ not genuine?
I don’t know but I bought the clear gel and I don’t like it because it doesn’t stick as well. I’m almost out of the tacky glue in the brown bottle and I really hope they haven’t changed the formula. Can you take yours back?
Amazon refunded me so I bought a regular bottle that arrived today and now I believe the stuff I got was fake. Upon having both to compare the proper glue is thicker and when it’s applied it goes on different. I experimented on an envelope, the regular one could be seen clearly with white streaks from the brush and stayed tacky. I folded one corner down and it stayed instantly. The tiny bottle disappeared virtually instantly, had no brush streaks was bone dry in seconds and would not hold a corner down at all. So I really think I got fake stuff in an Aleene’s bottle. I spent all afternoon re-glueing four sets of feet pads, nails and noses on . Beyond tedious but no way was I risking leaving them when they’re coming off before they’re even finished!
I’ve wondered about the clear one but as the white one goes clear anyway I’ve never bothered trying it and I definitely won’t now! I’m sticking firmly to the proper sized brown bottle only!
Been seeing quite a few reviews on products at Amazon saying when they purchase certain items off Amazon, they are not the same as when they buyt them in the store. Many are saying that sellers Amazon allows on there are sending counterfeit products. I used to wonder if that could be true or even possible, but that’s how it looks… Amazon is not quite what it used to be.
