Anyone know if youre able to do air dry varnish over a baby whos been varnished with genesis matte varnish?

I did it with Americana Soft Touch + cornstarch mix (usual recipe) over Genesis varnish.
I know other artist do it also for softer feel.

Yes.

Like Yelena I use Americana soft touch. When I have a baby that needs a little powder or a touch up and I have already sealed or assembled I will touch up with Americana.

I would be careful about baking after doing layers of air dry, GHSP, airdry…

I had one baby that had some crazing. Honestly I am not sure if it was the combination or some kind of weirdness with the person who bought it. You don’t see the damage in photos, I didn’t see any damage when I shipped, but she swears out of no where the varnish started “cracking”. My gut was that it was something beyond my control here but I did remember that I had taken that baby apart and revarnished the whole baby because it seemed to have gone shiny. I used GHSP matte over airdry and baked. Not sure if that was the issue. I did refund her, I did repair the doll, I did donate it to someone going through chemo for comfort, the baby lives with her very happy granddaughter now. The end.
