If the paint rubbed off, wouldn’t that mean that the paint wasn’t set or a finish wasn’t applied properly? I have been using diapers for years, in addition to swaddling and cushioning with packing materials, and never had a problem. Interesting…

I use the matte side of white tissue paper (yes, there is a matte side and a waxed side) then diaper over that…

That was one of mine. I felt terrible about it and have no idea why it happened. The paint had been applied properly and well cured before sealing. Sealer was cured before listing. It was the first, and only, time I used a diaper over the head. I’ve never had paint rub off before or since, even when shipping internationally. So, I can only conclude that it was the diaper. I now wrap it with a piece of fleece tied with a ribbon or fold the (soft) blanket over the head and tie it with a ribbon.
