I really enjoy crocheting and that's how I acedently fell into reborning
I was looking for a mannequin to model my baby clothes for my etsy shop on eBay. Well I wasn't happy with my infant options so on ebay I searced for realistic baby doll.... That's when I was introduced to reborns.
I decided a used reborn would be perfect so I started looking for one and on my journey I learned about the reborn community and the process of reborning. I was enchanted.
Well I bought my first reborn and she arrived beautifully. At this point I had no plans of EVER reborning a doll. I have done some canvas painting and painting is not my thing (or so I thought).
My Mother in law saw her and fell in love. So I decided for Christmas I would buy her a used reborn.
I found one I liked on eBay and bought her. When she arrived.... I was HORRIFIED!!!.....I was almost in tears. There was no way I could give this to her for Christmas. I showed my daughter this atrocity to see what she thought. She was insistent that I reborn her.... I couldn't make it any worse right?
I found all the paints I needed for $60 and decided to give it a shot.
She was Kaelin by Denise Pratt, I stripped her then got to paining. I fell in love with the process, I totally got lost in my work.
When she was finished she looked great. My daughter and I decided to have some fun with her and take her to the store. Everyone thought she was real My MIL fell in love with her at first sight.
I am new to reborning and I have a lot to learn, but I sure am enjoying every aspect of it
