Why Are There No Kits

Ok, I have been absent again but signed on to get some supplies and why is everything sold out?

There is a global Pandemic. Covid -19, corona virus that began in China a few months back and everything was shut down, no manufacturing no shipping for awhile. Things are starting to come back around slowly… but a few months ago the US shut down and a lot of people were out of work which slowed slot of things such as shipping etc and so things slowed down a lot more. BB’s shipment sat out at sea for months waiting to be cleared to dock and unload due to all that was going on. It’s going to take the world along time to recover if ever. The world is an upside down place right now

Shipping and manufacturing have been seriously impacted by Covid-19. Some companies have permanently closed, many people are working from home, and a lot of manufacturers are short staffed or shut down because employees are ill and quarantined. They just can’t keep up with demand. The distributors can’t get products from manufacturers, retailers can’t get them from distributors so here we are. I waited over 4 months for some mohair I ordered from Russia because planes were grounded.

Welcome back Patty
Right before the coronavirus hit the factories were shut down for their Chinese new year. Then the virus hit and the factories reclosed or stayed closed for months. Then international Shipping stopped… Now it is slowly open but things are still taking months.
BB even mentioned that they “slowed down” on ordering huge orders (like normal) so other kit dealers could also get their orders in with the factory only working part time, etc.

I think it’s more because they may be struggling a bit financially because of the situation than the kindness of heart,… business certainly have been slow…

The factories shut down temporarily due to the pandemic so BBs warehouse is pretty empty.

Lol I doubt it. Craft sales are going way up because people are home more looking for things to do lol

Yes but they are short on kits…I am sure that may have an impact on sales.

Well, I knew covid 19 had caused delays and shipping shortages but thought shipments would have started coming in. Thanks for the responses and I hope one day we will get back to normal or as close as we can. It is so difficult seeing what this virus is doing especially to the people infected. I will be in and out of the forum. I haven’t been making babies because I need supplies but that can wait and I will get what I can. I am having surgery Sept. 1 and thought that would be something I could do during recovery.

Welcome back. :slightly_smiling_face: There are lots of people selling kits in the wanted and for sale section of this forum. Sometimes other supplies as well.

I had my surgery last Tuesday and everything went great. I am getting my strength back and ready to make some babies. Thanks to your all for your prayers that were much appreciated. Looking at the for sale section are most of the ads really old? I only saw a couple that I thought were current.

Macpherson renamed their usual sale section, calling it “Labor Day sale.” But it’s the same kits as always. I haven’t seen any other sales. :woman_shrugging:t2:

I just looked at the sale section and I didn’t see much discount esp 70%
