Why not, if they fit the criteria?
Why not? From my understanding I’m a college student and filed taxes this year I understood that I would receive one.
Don’t think we (my family) is getting one, don’t care, it is just money handed to us now that we will pay back later. I am glad that some people who really need it will get it and I hope it is spent on survival needs.
I also receive finical aid but this was the first year I filed taxes. It’s kind of tricky because your parent can claim you as a dependent but not necessarily a dependent because the dependent age cuts off at 17 then your parents no longer receive the deduction for you. You can be claimed as a “dependent” because you live with her/ she takes over half the financial responsibility for you. I think it really comes down to if you yourself pay taxes at this point. Many college students do have jobs but are some how still able to have their income with their parents. My cousin is able to do that but I myself file my taxes completely different from my mothers.
From my knowledge when it comes to financial aid (aka FAFSA and what this may be using to determine eligibility), in the US you’re considered a dependent until 25 besides for specific circumstances Such as having a child, marriage, and a few other really specific cases such as abuse or emancipation.
I unfortunately won’t be getting a stimulus check though god knows that would make rent and life easier for a month or two.
I just read an article that said many in Congress are trying to get an add on to the bill to help those college students who fall as dependents.
Ummm bills. Maybe I can buy some proper PPE for myself?!? /
I hope so!!!
I don’t think we will get one since we pay in every year. But if we do I would help my family.
That is just totally wrong on so many levels. These are the people who need it the most and it breaks my heart that they have been left out I totally understand your anger, and you have every right.
I will use mine to help with bills, being that my main income comes from my cake businesses and now has been on hold. I do have more time now to reborn, so that will help also.

Best thing to do is read online about it. But make sure you read from multiple sources as not everyone has the same information. And be sure that they are credible sources.
Good luck!
I just received an email from college that said college students will be receiving relief from the pandemic mailed out Friday. It’s called the CARES act.
Mine has deposited into my checking account. And I hope that it stays there. I need to save money.
