I’m about to paint a berenguer with grooves in the head. I have seen threads with people talking about filling in grooves, sanding ect., but no thanks, not trying to do all of that. Lol So what would look best? Ignoring the grooves? Maybe lightly suggesting hair with paint? What do you think?
If you’re going to root it, you can just do it over the grooves. If you want to paint the hair, paint the grooves but extend the hairs around the edges. Needless to say, it won’t look good as a bald baby. It needs some kind of camouflage.
My first reborn was the Berenuer awake newborn with grooves on his head. I just painted the grooves and then added wispiness around the hairline. If you search for Samuel, you can see how I painted it.
It turned out great Nema
Thank you
You’re welcome I’m bookmarking your post BC I just bought both the sleeping and awake versions of this kit. I’ll probably sale the awake kit but, I got a pretty good deal by purchasing both at the same time…
You may want to purchase a different body than the one that comes with it. The one it comes with is a Berenguer doll body, and it looks very dolly when put together. I used it anyway by I didn’t know any better, but I may change it in the future.
I’ll look into it thanks
How cute, @Nema517! The grooves aren’t even noticeable.
Thanks, @jeanhai! I avoid rooting as much as I possibly can, so painting it is. I will extend the edges as you suggested.
These are what we had when i first learned to reborn … i remember sanding and sanding …thank goodness for doll kits now. you could get a wig if you wanted to. They make adorable reborns.
