I’ve seen babies made by prototype artists that I was a bit surprised at. Not that they were bad or anything but just not quite as “perfect” as I thought they would be. I have also heard that some reborners do a little ‘tweaking’ of the pictures they take, which I think is Wrong. I know others think differently about it but that’s just my opinion. A buyer should GET exactly what that picture shows.
Editing pictures to more accurately represent reality is fine. Editing them to hide flaws or make them look better than they are is not.
But that also goes for how stuff is photographed. You can hide a lot in pictures.
I’ve seen people post pictures of a baby that had a pacifier in its mouth or a hand or toy in front of it in every single one. I asked for a picture where the mouth was actually shown and it looked horrible. Completely ruined the entire doll.
I’ve seen it too, but this is wrong on so many levels.
I will actually be listing a baby soon that falls into this category. Here’s her story: I painted her a while ago, she just needs a few things to finish up. Well anyway, I can’t halfway see but decided to paint the nails without magnification. They looked horrible. I tried to strip the nails and made it worse. Not only would all of the paint not come off of the nail, paint got removed from the fingers, beside the nail. So anyway. I’m over her at this point. I will repair the best I can, take photos of her horrible nails, offer her at a reduced price, and off she will go. She is cute otherwise and will be cuter with mitts.
My boo boo baby will make someone happy. She won’t be here looking at me anymore, irritating me with her ugly nails. My customer won’t be angry, calling PayPal, looking for a refund, ruining my reputation ect… All this drama can be avoided.
Yep, everyone looks cute with a paci and a hat. Still, it’s best to try for honest pix to avoid disappointment.
Not sure how cute I’d look with a paci and a hat!
I guess it would depend on who look at the picture
I’m sure I’d look very cute on my way to the psych ward in my hospital hat, sucking on a pacifier.
Lol @ Purple and Jean
I think I’ll add socks and mitts to the looking cute accessories. Can’t tell what’s going on with details with all that garb.
There are people who actually do this. It actually weirds me out so much. It’s very confusing to me.
@Purplefetish
From my understanding it’s sometimes used when people are trying to break a bad habit, like drug use. Coming down can make them anxious or have nervous energy, a pacifier can keep them from grinding their teeth.
For others dressing like a baby is a relaxing break from adulting or a sexual fetish.
I wondered about it once too.
Not something you want to go in depth with on Google unless those ideas are appealing.
People are weird.
When Yahoo was a thing, ages ago, and Yahoo chat rooms, there was this guy called “putmeindiaperslikealilbaby”. And he did the baby thing. Of course I was like preteen-teen, so it was a huge novelty to me. I see videos on TikTok that act like babies and have a “Daddy”. That is concerning to me, because it seems to be some sort of indication of a man being attracted to those baby like or child like. It’s very confusing to me.
I once had a random guy message me inquiring if I would like him to be my “daddy”. I’m like “nope, not into submission of any kind”.
It’s so creepy to me! To be into a child-like person is…creepy. To be sexually into child-like is so concerning, what the heck!
Love your work! What type of paint are you using? Do you know if the Genesis paint is an oil paint?
Thanks! I use Genesis. It is technically an oil but it is unique compared to other oils. It’s heat set.
Thanks! At this time I am searching trying to find it in stock. Is there something similar that would work??
NO! Genesis is the only heat set oil that will work. You could use airdry paints and have many choices.
Thanks for the info.!
Just wondered what would happen if you use oil paint for canvas in place of Genesis.
Won’t work…
