Did this stuff work for faux silicone babies?
@jeanhai-are the LDC kits the âsoft lineâ ones? I never came across any LDC kits, wondering how soft the regular LDC kits are.
I should have mentioned that, Lovelyn had normal leg openings, so she was easy, Ilse was a nightmare. I really like it for regular reborns. I love the way it feels in the LDC ultra soft line, but it can be really tricky depending on the limb type. And I wasnât able to fully fill the torso because of the openings.
And Iâm not sure about making full babies with it, if thatâs what you meant.I never tried, I saw some people make them but they never showed pictures of course. I have used it to make bellyâs and butts, just kind of jelly body inserts.
I love the idea of inserts for the body. No matter how I stuff it, the body never feels as real. How did you get the right shape for the tushie and belly?
I cheated well sort of. I made a belly plate mold, out of the cubbiest belly plate I had, just with clay. Filled it with plastisol and cured it. It didnât feel quite right in the body, so I just made a kind of belly shape clay mold, looked like a shallow bowl kind of and started using that. For butts, I did the same thing; made a clay mold from the butt part of a back plate and made the butt mold a little deeper and wider. Then I started making one butt cheek at a time. Iâm not a sculptor at all, so I just got the basic shapes in clay and then adjusted them to better fit in bodies through trial and error. We recently moved, but when I find my mold, etc⌠box I can post some pictures for you
What kind of clay do you use?
The kind that will make sculptors cringe. I just had this cheap air dry crayola clay tub that I used. It worked fine though, for what I was doing anyways, just basic shapes. I definitely donât recommend it for anything complex. And it didnât hold up well, it would crack after just a few pours. Not from pouring, just from moving it. I havenât done one since moving several months ago. I did buy some sculpy, so Iâm going to use that for my next ones.
By us they have the Juna now on sale
He is 52,90 with vinyl body girl/boy
He looks cute have anyone paint her before
Iâm getting interested in sculpting but Iâm not sure how I will do lol. Probably be awful! It looks like it requires much talent!
I have so much respect for sculptors. I thought it would be pretty easy until I realized I couldnât even sculpt a butt!
Lol it looks impossible but Iâm just dying for a silicon baby and no way can I afford one. But it would take a lot of money and talent I think to accomplish that!
You should give it a try! You wonât know if your any good unless you try. I think itâs like everything else, if you work at youâll get decent. You could also be one of those rare talents, who is excellent right away. You never know
Yeah maybe!
Emma I got my stuff in today. It had no instructions. Can u give me some advice . Do I mix it with anything?
Let us know how it goes when you try this method. I am curious. I had a thought to find a bowl the size of a babyâs bottom to make inserts for the babyâs bottom. I even wonder if you could spray the bowl with pam like you do jellow or dunking the dish in warm water to release the mold. I donât know just things I thought of.
Absolutely. You donât mix it with anything, you want to mix the bottle but not shake it. I basically just turn it upside down, to the sides, etc ⌠I pour mine in a measuring cup, the less you put in the faster it will cure. It doesnât matter if the container is glass, plastic, etc⌠I put it in the microwave for one minute, stir well and then 30 second increments stirring after each. It will be opaque and start to turn clear as it heats. When itâs ready it will be completely clear. I use popcicle sticks to stir, it sticks to the wood however. If you use a butter knife or something else you can easily just peel off whatever sticks to the stirring implement. Is there something more specific you want to know?
The bowl is a great idea! And you donât need to spray it or anything. As long as itâs glass or plastic it just peels right out and doesnât stick at all
Ok I see now how to use it. Thanks Emma
Nice!
If they donât specify soft line, theyâre regular vinyl.
