I agree. That site looks like it’s run by scammers now. Partial kit names or no names at all in the titles?!? It looks like Chinese people with broken English are running it now.

Oh I am so DONE with this site. I’m using the last of my paid membership to comment on his forum thingy, pointing out the issues as much as possible. The site looks like a huge scam with the all the one word names, outdated layout, and way too many different sections and ways to browse. All of the babies thrown at the buyer as soon as they open the website looks very scammy too - there are way too many, it looks fake.

Honestly, the only reason I learned about them was because they are often only mentioned on the artist’s website or social media page bio in reference to their artistic experience. I know there’s at least one other reborn association I’m forgetting that’s not as frequently mentioned as IIORA, but I can’t recall the name at the moment.
EDIT: IRDA is the other one I’m thinking of, though I think it currently only exists as a FB group as I can’t find a website for it like the others I mentioned earlier.

The thing about that is there are listings that say Xmas special in the title and there were also ones that said Black Friday sale. I privately messaged him and asked him about it because I thought I had read that we weren’t aloud to do that.

I still think Dave’s heart is in the right place. He even asked for a complete list of kit names, which nobody is going to be able to produce, so he could update his programming. He tries but he just doesn’t know much about reborns. Because of that he needs to let us post our listings with the title we think it needs. There are lots more things he could be working on instead of blocking words in the titles of the listings we are paying for!

He would have to look at all the kit dealers… There used to be a website or blog that listed kits and who sculpted it. But I don’t think it works anymore
There is also a facebook group with something like “every kit ever made” but it is not all the way updated.

I posted that site on reborns but as I said, it’s not updated at all. Try canal blog every reborn kit ever made. I guess it could be a starting place.

I don’t want to be required to title my listings with kit names. I like the keyword feature but it’s not currently working. The search bar where you can find a baby by sculpt name isn’t working, either. I searched for April and got dozens of babies that aren’t April-Joseph, Saskia, Easton, Jewls, Tobiah, etc. I think this would have gone better if Dave had perfected one change before moving on to the next. It’s all just kind of scrambled now.

@Mommy2six you know what’s really weird. You made a comment on my Sweet Pea’s name being changed to Pea but it doesn’t show up anywhere on this forum. There is not even a notification for me. The only thing I got was an email, if not for that I wouldn’t even have known you responded.

My Jennie has been sitting for over a week with not a single message about her. She has 11 favorites so I know she is being received ok, but zero bites. I know a week isn’t very long but I usually get lots of bites within the first week, even though here lately my sales have not been a result of Reborns. I may not renew this time around. I think with all the scamming stuff going on, all the buyers are fleeing the .coms! BTW that baby is beautiful and she will definitely be someone’s favorite baby when she finds her home

I’ve been missing notifications too. I wonder if there are settings to choose what to be notified of or if they are just malfunctioning?
I’m getting them from everyone else, it was just that one. And it’s not just the notification, her comment doesn’t even show up in the thread.

As someone studying business, who also has a background in graphic design and artwork, I am incredibly disheartened by the choices Dave is currently making.
No one should be running a business or website for something they have so little understanding of.
From not knowing key words, to not understanding that there are thousands of sculpts and sculptors and trying to “streamline” a website that does not need streamlined in that sense (more so it needs a graphics overhaul out of the early 2000’s but that’s besides the point), changing listings names made by paid members is incredibly unprofessional. I am troubled by all of this, I have quietly watched this unfold with the hope that everything would be sorted and that Dave would listen. Currently Dave seems to have done little research on reborns, the artists, sculptors, and history behind us, or grasp an understanding that this is an art-form. from everything I have read it feels he does not understand this is art not manufactured clothing or something from China, but fine incredibly detailed paintings on vinyl.
I’m disappointed, and hope that he will read through the messages in this thread and understand that you cannot run a business the way he currently is.
I currently own a business of my own (all local currently) and am on a board for a small business, what has been happening since the changes started in November has seemed so incredibly unprofessional I am baffled by it. I may do some research of my own and see if I could bring about a website, or hopefully BB will do that. Because currently this website does not seem to have the artists at heart, and Dave does not seem to understand the product he is helping platform and market for.
I was hoping to start selling in the near future, but honestly until there is a website that is honest and for the artists, made by someone with knowledge of this artform, enough to give us a platform that is smooth and safe to use, I won’t be.
