Thinner and Mediums, confusion?

So I’m researching and checking through the forum.

Do you have to use medium if you’re using thinner? I’m confused as there’s conflicting information on the web and the forums.

Thinner is to give the baby a transparent look, i.e veins, blush etc. Correct? <—this is what I want when making my baby.

Medium…is?

Thinning medium is like snot… lol (there is thick medium too but I have never used that)

When you mix it it is thicker and the color is darker than when you mix with thinner. It doesn’t run
I use it for creases, nostrils and lips mostly. Oh and nail tips.
